Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!   These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown. You can find out more information here: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1603148201489580032

I just got 10 pre roll ads and then one of the new banner ads that pops up at the bottom of the stream and temporarily reduces the size of the stream being displayed. These display ads were added so we would see less of the very intrusive video ad spam but you just slapped them on top of the excessive video ads and have not reduced the number of video ads in the slightest. In fact I'm actually seeing more video ads than ever before. VODs nowadays are RIDDLED with ads as well. It's beyond ridiculous at this point. Find another way to make this website profitable because injecting extreme amounts of ads is not the answer. I used to spend 8 to 12 hours on this site per day but that has been significantly reduced lately because of the staggering amount of ads. Streaming is very oversaturated nowadays so finding new streams to watch is already really difficult. Having to sit through 3 to 5 mins of ads for every stream you click on is beyond intrusive and greedy. At the very least pre roll ads should have a cooldown of sorts, if you have watched a set of pre-roll ads then you shouldn't have to see more pre-rolls for "x" amount of minutes. That way you can actually browse for streams to watch.

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

"The volume of an ad will match the volume of the channel you’re watching." It says this under the Audio Ads Experience.
This is most certainly not true. The ads are always WAY louder than the stream I am watching. Remove this from the audio ads info section (as it is a blatant lie) or actually make the ads the same volume as the stream I am watching. Tired of having my eardrums blown out by ads.
