On 2/2, we will turn off Chants.
While this feature was popular, we observed negative impacts to minutes watched for significant groups of creators.

Easily abused by toxic moderators, makes chat difficult to read for a while. If the goal was to create chat engagement this seems like the wrong way to go about it to force an outcome on the whims of the streamer or the moderators. Something more subtle to be use positively might had been a better route to take.

We would like to offer an “off-duty mode” for Mods, but it isn’t one of our top priorities at the moment. Will revisit in 2021.

We would definitely like to give Mods a way to communicate with each other more easily, and are starting to explore implementation options.

Agreed there needs to be the ability to turn the flag appearing on a user in chat off and on, so a broadcaster doesn't get distracted while allowing the moderators to still see that information.

Thank you Twitch for making the right decision here. From the few channels I saw that had this experiment enabled, the feature was used for harassment and bullying. While I've seen people have managed to have a positive experience with this feature, it will be that small percent that ruin it for everyone else.
