Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!
These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown.

i know some people here said in the comments it wouldn't work but i wonder if there is a way to make a banner pop up within the video player and can't be blocked similar to how right now ads show and it is generally harder to block using ad blocker that way its not interrupting content as much, no sound so people can still clip and ads still get their products in front of eyes seems like a win for all parties

Setting this to a partial release status as the majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

Make it go back to colors the italic ruins all sorts of creativity. Also for moderation purposes its easier to see text that stick out that is colored when its a fast pace chat to get peoples attention if needed. If whole purpose of removing it was to minimize confusion that's a weak point because no one gets confused over colored text and 99% of people who try to " /me donated $1000" know its a meme
