I just appealed a few days ago and was accepted, I have my account back. I'm hoping you've gotten your account back by now too. Without the 6 month appeal I would have permanently lost this 10 year old account to the void for a very stupid mistake I had made- which is pretty much game over.
For anyone who posts something egregious without realizing it like the two of us did, my best advice is to not panic- improperly explaining yourself will cost you 6 months. In your appeal, acknowledge fault, apologize, and commit to never making the mistake again. Appeals are going to be most likely read by a human, maybe initially glanced over by A.I but the whole reason for the 6 month wait is to make it realistic to actually get through all the thousands and thousands of appeals they have piled on top of them.
