Creators are so tired of GenAI being shoved down our throats in every aspect of the internet. It steals from creators to make sub-par content that nobody ever asked for. People see the word AI and they dont want to be associated with that platform, myself included. In time, an alternative to Twitch will rise that actually listens to their community, and Twitch will be left in the dust. The state of the platform is honestly sad at this point, largely dominated by streamers who use viewbotting to mislead sponsers and the platform's anti-creator stance they have taken many times. Twitch continues to dig a deeper grave for themselves by promoting and using AI, and I am sure many streamers would be happy to jump ship at this point due to the repeated lack of care Twitch has as a whole for the audience that made it what it is today.
We are all so tired of genAI being forced upon us. We opened a discussion about the art category using a genAI image to represent it. We spoke out about the free genAI emotes that have been handed out for events. Repeatedly we have asked for Twitch to support creators and make decisions that support the people who make it up. Yet at every turn, it seems Twitch/Amazon have decided to wage war against the people who made it a platform. Every time a decision like this is made, more creators move to other platforms. There are more competitors for Twitch now more than ever and if you continue to make decisions that negatively impact us, then why would we continue to use Twitch? We should be given the choice of how OUR content and how OUR art is used and not simply stolen from under us for a small piece of the revenue pie. If you will not give us an opt-out, then I firmly believe we deserve additional compensation for the usage of our hard work in your machine.
I like Twitch. I like the flexibility and creativity the platform allows me to have. However, it has become obvious to me I need to work on building my platform elsewhere and not have all of my eggs in the Twitch basket.
