This experiment is now closed as the new mobile redesign is rolling out to all users. Thank you for all your feedback during the experiment. We released an update to respect your autoplay settings in the feed, muted the feed on open by default (you can adjust this in your settings), and added mute functionality directly to the feed to give you more control over your viewing experience. We also enabled PIP over feed and have been continuing to improve app performance since launch. Learn more about the new app on our blog and continue to share feedback with us on the improved experience in the mobile category on UserVoice.

Continue watching is gone. Top shelf support is also gone. Why remove perfectly fine working features?

Just jumping in to add some more feedback regarding this update. I received the beta layout on both my iOS and Android devices. The android phone has the whole redesign where the "Home" tab is now a TikTok clone feed and my followed channels are now in a slide out menu accessed by hitting the button on the top left of the home screen. This layout is just not good compared to what we previously had. Having streams start as soon as I open that app is annoying. Also, I no longer have instant access to my followed channels. The slide out menu does not have thumbnails which I rather enjoyed to get a somewhat recent glimpse at the topic the streamer might be talking about (I watch a lot of Just Chatting). Also this new followers slide out menu is missing suggested streams and continue watching which I used quite a bit on the old layout. This layout is a hard no for me, and I will be using other methods to access Twitch on my android phone until things change in the official app.
The iOS device received the layout where it still has the old followers tab (complete with thumbnails, followed streamers, suggested streamers and continue watching) but it's now the second tab. The app still opens to the TikTok clone that autoplays with scrollable streams. If anything just switch it so the app opens to the follow tab and leave the TikTok clone on a secondary tab for anyone that wants to use it. That would be a good compromise. The Android layout I have is a hard no. The iOS layout just needs a small tweak and it will be fine. Thanks for listening.
