Thank you all for your valued feedback, and please continue to leave your suggestions for Shoutouts below! An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Swtorista commentedNew Shoutout Function (Announced 8/25/2022 - Patch Notes Ep.12 ) - Make it so you can click the user's name in chat you want to shoutout and click a button on their profile, rather than only shout out via typing.
I love the new shoutout pop up design over chat, but really struggle to type during stream and would love to be able to click the users name and then click shoutout on the little profile box that normally pops up when you click their name.
Here is how it looks right now as previeed, it's really cool: https://clips.twitch.tv/BumblingScaryQueleaGOWSkull-RqatxUYDYH4WvM_E
Here is what I would like the clickable shoutout button to look:

FEEDBACK NOW THAT IT IS LIVE:
1) I got a shout out from a channel that had it enabled, very cool! But it does NOT show up in the chat. I only watch my chat as all info already shows up there (chat messages, subscribers, raids.) I do not watch the activity feed. So I would have missed why people were suddenly following after a shoutout out. The channel also shoutoutted another channel and encouraged others to follow, and the recipient thought it was follow bots cus she just got a bunch of followers without any context as she played. 2) It seems like it can be easily abused for the current time limits. 1 minute is pretty short. So you could shout someone out 60 times an hour and it keep popping up in their feed.
3) I have seen some requests to limit it only to people online, or people in your chat, etc to prevent trolling. I would like to say that I really like shouting out people who are not currently online or not currently in my chat. For example, if another streamer has made an infographic, and i show it on stream, I'd like to be able to say thanks and promote their stream with a shoutout even if they are sleeping.
4) The timer for 1 minute resets when you TYPE the command. So you kinda have to guess when you can re-shout someone... but if you accidentally do it at 50 seconds, it will reset a whole 60 seconds again with no shoutout. Needs to either reset at a successful command use OR show some type of countdown timer ("You can't shoutout for another 35 seconds" etc.) I think it may have an increasing timer which is extra confusing for someone using it in a legitimate way with no interface feedback.
5) When someone is shouted out, the "follow" or "dismiss" popup shows on the page. But why can't I like... click their username, so I can see their page and learn about them, so I can decide to follow or not, or learn more?
6) If multiple people have helped me with a project, I'd like to shout them both. But I shout one, then I get stuck on the timer, and have to wait 1 minute... and by then I have forgotten what I was talking about lol. I understand the timer is there to prevent spam, but I'd love to be able to shout 3-4 people in a row... maybe it's something accounts with good standing could unlock? Another example is when we get raided, sometimes multiple streamers and friends come in at a time who I want to shout out.
7) I'd still like to see "/so" and "!so" and "!shoutout" work in chat if it doesn't already.
8) I'd still like to see a button I could click from people in chat if possible (see other comment)
To see what I see, https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1603054441 look for the video "Raid + Shoutouts, Ludwig Company, Julien Disappointed, and more! | !patreon !tts | TWITCH NEWS" on September 27, 2022 - ZachBussey got the feature as a test, though he didn't realise he had it at first.
