Admindowski (Admin, Twitch) responded
Hey guys! We really appreciate the feedback that has been brought forth in this thread and just wanted to update you a little bit on what is going on.
This change was originally made to guard against raid bot attacks. While smaller raids are currently viewable in activity feed in the dashboard, we are working on a solution that treats raids equally while guarding against abuse tactics.

Hi, I know that this is a very late response, but we’re hoping to find time to address this issue later this year. There are a few steps we’ll have to take to solve this problem in a way that will work for all streamers, but we understand the severity of the issue.

@Trevor Here's the part I don't understand:
1) When you're banned from a Twitch channel, you kicked out of chat.
2) When you're banned from an IRC channel, you're kicked out of chat.
So why in the world can't we ban bots to kick them out of chat?
Of course I think it would be nice to require chat bots to allow people to unsubscribe from their service. But advanced features like that don't seem necessary at all. Just treat bots like users and let people ban them into oblivion. The end.
