I’m currently developing a Twitch/Discord integration that automatically posts newly created Clips to a Discord channel.
The current Get Clips API can take several minutes before a newly created Clip becomes visible. In real-world testing, we have seen delays of around 5–6 minutes, which makes real-time Clip notifications impractical.
A `channel.clip.created` EventSub subscription would solve this perfectly, similar to how `stream.online` works.
Ideally, the event would include at least:
- Clip ID
- Broadcaster ID
- Creator ID / name
- Clip URL
- Created timestamp
- Title
This would allow third-party applications to react to newly created Clips immediately without constantly polling the Clips API.
For our use case, even 10–30 seconds would be acceptable, but several minutes is far too slow for a real-time alert system.
Please consider adding Clip creation events to EventSub.
