I like the random spotlight idea, but I think it could also be developed into a more interactive, optional discovery experience.
What I have in mind is not just passively showing viewers a random small channel. It would be more like joining a live virtual cruise or group tour. Viewers enter a dedicated page, travel together from one live channel to another, post messages as a group, and interact directly with each streamer they visit.
The entertainment would come from the live encounter itself: the streamer notices that a “cruise” has arrived, reacts to the visitors, talks with them, and tries to convince them to stay. The viewers could then vote to “Stay” or move to the “Next” channel.
Because users would actively choose to join this mode, it would not interrupt people who are already watching their favorite streamer. It would be a social live event for viewers who specifically want to explore and interact with unfamiliar communities, rather than just another recommendation algorithm.
