As a trans person with other trans friends and loved ones, I don't want to be seeing these ads on anyone's channel! And I definitely don't want new, especially trans, folks coming into my streams to see an ad that will sell an audiobook with profits going to someone who is just going to spend the money pushing for anti-trans legislation. Putting viewers in a position where they want to turn off Twitch immediately isn't good for anyone. There's been problems in the past (perhaps even currently; I am not up-to-date on the issue) with other streaming and video hosting sites (e.g. YouTube) that will demonetize content because it contains 'risky' content advertisers don't want to be associated with. This content is often just related to 2SLGBTQIA+ creators, stories, and other related content that is meant for a relatively broad audience and would not be considered risky if it wasn't related to 2SLGBTQIA+ folks. So if advertisers are given this option, why not the creators who produce the content that makes the site function in the first place?
