I was lucky that the new 'twitch-tok' update downloaded first on a old almost dead phone first; my god it is horrible auto-playing video and audio on startup is a hard NO from me on anything no exceptions. I disabled auto updates on my good phone and will use the old version until it stops working then I'll stop using it period; security issues be damned.
The only way I'll ever use a newer version than the one I have (Android 19.6.1) is to restore all removed features (the inability to sort my follow list is a royal pain) and disable auto-play audio on start (ideally video too but audio is non negotiable) there are several types of instances where uncontrolled audio blasting through my phone is at best rude.
I primarily use the browser version but the pre 'twitch-tok' version has been useful when I'm lying in bed or outside but if I can't utilize the pre 'twitch-tok' version or a newer version that meets all the above criteria in my comment then I WILL go without the mobile app.
