It's 2023 and still having this issue on Chrome *and* the Twitch app*. It's infuriating because I fix it by pausing and restarting the stream and guess what happens? More ads, which means I'm missing TONS of streaming content because I have to keep playing the 'get through the ad, now fix the issue the ad created' over and over again.
I can't offer a solution because I don't know the technology that makes this work or causes this issue other than despising the ads entirely. I mostly end up just not watching anymore. This happens on all streams, regardless of the amount of time the ads run, if it's preroll, midroll, etc.
*Twitch app: sometimes the stream just wont play at all after the ads roll. I have to restart the entire app and it happens again. It's gotten to the point I check to see if the streamer is on YouTube too to bypass this nonsense.
