I spend a lot of bits... And can say I am not at all happy with this cheer system. I go into bits knowing the premium I'm paying for them and am happy to do so knowing the streamer isn't paying it. This system obviously works more like Subs and me as a viewer pays the flat amount (+ tax) and the streamer only gets a cut of that. It forces you to cheer instantly instead of being able to stock up on bits and use them over time. Also since it's whole dollar amounts and instant this prevents streamers who have lists of bit alerts for various amounts from being able to use them. And can say that generates a decent amount of bit usage IE revenue for those streamers.
I see no upside to this outside of what seems like Twitch trying to get more profit for themselves. It in no way makes cheering easier as you have titled it.
Even though I get **** from other viewers for paying the bit premium, which is insanely high, I still do it because I like the reward/tracking system for it and the ability to trigger various alerts for relatively cheap... If this cheer system does go through in anything near its current state and replaces bits I wont be using it and will finally make the move to donating through 3rd parties.
Hope the devs listen to the clearly overwhelming negative feedback on this one.
