We share and understand your concerns about how the intentional, repeated misuse of tags can undermine the purpose of the tags product itself. Tags are an important discoverability feature for communities, and a powerful way for all Creators—but especially those that are underrepresented—to express their personal identity and creative vision for their content.
We also do not feel Twitch should be the judge of Creators’ personal or creative identity, so we typically only enforce against the misuse of tags when it is associated with other behavior that violates our Community Guidelines such as hateful conduct or harassment.
That said, as the VTuber community’s experience demonstrates, there are limitations to this approach and we are actively investigating additional steps we can take to protect and improve the integrity of the tags feature at scale, without infringing on good faith Creators’ personal choice…

As stated by the Vtuber community, Non-Vtubers are using the business tags to steal THEIR supporters, THEIR business revenue, And THEIR time and effort. And you replied with

There is no “I define my channel as this” when it’s obvious! Gaming is gaming, Art is Art, Nature is Nature. Each tag comes with its own specific use for what it’s obviously used for. And to point it out the people being reported at least the two main people causing this issue, ARE harassing the Vtuber community! And you’re not stopping them! Now first! Before I continue, consider this! Art is art, yes? And a Nature channel is for Nature correct? So if a Nature channel puts a thumbnail for gaming content, Then proceeds to use tags for said game in the tag option but then streams a nature documentary, they would be violating your terms, correct? Wouldn’t it be wrong? Since they would be posting content that would STEAL from other categories and they would be falsifying the content being used? So they would then gain viewers by falsifying what is being posted. So what’s the difference between people stealing the Vtuber tags for their channel that has nothing to do with being a Vtuber? We are adults and this MUST be dealt with..There is no “Well I see it as this” In reality, these people are HURTING their content, HARASSING them, MOCKING and BEATING them down, draining their time, energy and breaking down people’s mental states and well being! GET IT DONE! BECAUSE YOU AREN'T PICKING UP THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSE!
TWITCH! You’re allowing a woman that is DEEPTHROATING on a live stream to harass your HARD WORKING EMPLOYEES, FURTHERMORE! THEIR fans attack Vtubers!! And you proceed to allow it to continue? You call this taking care of it? You say this is your company? Get it done! I will not tolerate excuses. There is no “I look at like this or that” Get your rears in gear and get this dealt with! I will NOT allow potential deaths to happen. And you as a company are held to be responsible for it, You are to see the bigger picture and I see it all. People CAN and COULD die from this, you aren't there to stop it. As a businessman I say to you “GET TO WORK!” Use your common sense because I’m tired of seeing the opposite being done by a COMPANY!CamyCool77

As a content creator for 4 years and still to this day, taking the tag of a Vtuber and using it to promote yourself as a non Vtuber in itself is wrong. It's pushing down the actual creators that are using this tag to grow their dream, their community and their content. User's that aren't Vtubers themselves should not be using the tag since they already have tags for their own actual content. It would be like using the tag of a company like hololive when you don't even work for them, which in turn steals their fans, and income. So doing it to Vtubers is the exact same and it is selfish to persist on justifiying the use of using something that isn't for your channel and effecting FELLOW content creators.

Furthermore! Said individuals are hurting YOUR business! YOUR image! YOUR company! As a businessman I will not tolerate this lack of involvement! You have a woman Deepthroating a Microphone using tags that aren't meant for said channel EXPLOITING Vtubers business revenue. Then she proceeds to hurt your workers by harassing them, mocking them, telling them to F*ck off, And THEIR fans come and tell Vtube content creators to go DIE!? TWITCH!? Does that scream business to you? Does that say we uphold our platform with utmost care to you!? No, it doesn’t in the slightest! It’s GROTESQUE! CHILDISH! THIS IS A SITE OF ARTIST, GAMING ENTREPRENEURS! AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS! WITH MINDS OF CREATIVITY! TO HAVE A GREAT TIME! DEEPTHROATING A MICROPHONE IS NOT VTUBER CONTENT! A CHILD DOES NOT NEED TO SEE THAT! STOP LETTING FOOLISH PEOPLE BASH YOUR WORKERS OF THE VTUBER COMMUNITY! IT ISN’T ACCEPTABLE!
Now..unlike the rest of the mockers that see this, I see the bigger picture while they see a narrow view with simplicity, disregarding all the damage, pain, suffering, heartache, tears, depression, anxiety, stress, and anger they caused, But in light of this you proceed to do..nothing? Fix it later during the year? GET YOUR LAZY REARS UP! AND STOP MAKING EXCUSES!
Do you think those exploiting, business stealing, harassing mockers, you call content creators are going to stop? You bet a million dollars they are going to SPAM the use of the tag for their own selfish gain and you say you’re going to fix it later? Get to work! PERIOD!
Also I wanna take a moment to address these childish idealistic views to justify their actions! I Quote from XQc the one said making foolish states which is also in itself a contradiction against his defense.
“Stop the hypocrisy. People have been misusing sections and tags on Twitch since the beginning of time,” xQc said. “The reality is, nobody should give a fuck. If you are mad, you are the only person who cares and is mad.”
The French-Canadian streamer went on to explain that he does believe himself to be a VTuber. “I am VTuber, what about it? Stop gatekeeping,” xQc said. “This is a message to VTubers, what gives you the right to say I’m not a VTuber?”
As he said, people have been Misusing the tags since the beginning? But that in itself doesn’t justify doing said action, rather it’s like saying since everyone else is stealing, then who cares! Let’s keep stealing! There’s nothing wrong with it! We’ve been doing this for years! So let’s keep stealing! Who cares what they say! They are just mad!”
Regardless of the time or length, it doesn’t justify their actions! You all know this! To debunk his statement that he said afterwards about “Identifying as Vtuber.” IF you don’t own and use a Vtuber model on a constant basis you are not a Vtuber! There is not “I say I am” It’s clear cut! Anything more is just an idealist notion that is created! It is not FACT! But just something to use to justify their actions because there is nothing to support this claim! Rather it’s another ideal created! Nothing more! STOP MAKING A IDEALISTIC LOOPHOLE! YOU ARE STEALING FROM CONTENT CREATORS! THEIR REVENUE! THEIR SUPPORTERS! THEIR HARD WORK! You are wrong for the simple fact! It’s not convoluted! Rather you’re making things up to justify your “view” So you continue STEALING the Vtuber business! YOU are in reality and we ALL KNOW! You’re doing this SO YOU CAN ABUSE THE SYSTEM! Because if you all weren’t then we wouldn’t be in this mess YOU created! And all you’re bringing to the table is made up views to somehow justify what you’re doing!
What’s being done isn’t! And I REPEAT! ISN’T A JUSTIFIED ACTION TO DEFEND THEIR USE TO CONTINUE USING THESE BUSINESS TAGS! RATHER! IT’S LIKE A CONVICT TRYING TO JUSTIFY THEIR INNOCENCE WHILE IT’S OBVIOUS SAID ACT WAS A CRIME! TRYING TO MAKE UP FABRICATED IDEALS TO JUSTIFY WHAT THEY HAVE DONE! FOR SELFISH GAIN!
THAT is the reality! Stop being confused because of a MADE UP view! That is obviously wrong! They care nothing but to abuse the system and get themselves higher! While the vtubers suffer, while they get depressed, threatened, sent hate messages! YOU ARE NOT CORRECT! You do not stand with the moral high ground! YOU PEOPLE ARE TAKING, STEALING, BULLYING, HATING, DISCRIMINATING, CAUSING MORE AND MORE DAMAGE WITH YOUR SELFISH IDEALISCT VIEWS THAT YOU CREATE TO SUPPORT YOUR SELFISH GAIN! NOTHING MORE!
As a businessman, and a citizen, this is nothing more but an act to selfishly gain the hard earned work of others and ABUSE the tags that are for the BUSINESS of the vtuber community! But they continue to harrasses and make fabricated ideals to justify their actions. It’s CHILDISH NOTHING MORE!
