Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

Neither are a good outcome for twitch. This decision should be reversed immediately.
It is essential that gifted subscriptions are included as a qualifying means for the Partner Plus program. Partners work incredibly hard for twitch, bringing new people to the platform through their, often unpaid, work on other social media's like tiktok and instagram; as well as incentivising viewers to gift subscriptions constantly in new and creative ways, thus earning twitch additional thousands each month. It is vital to twitch's longevity, and streamer's ability to put so much effort and time into their content by being full time streamers, that twitch fairly pays partners. 50/50 is greatly below other streaming services revenue share, many of which are 90/10, with the lowest of competitors being 70/30 on Youtube. Viewers want to support streamers, and through research, polling and discussions over many years it is clear that an increase in sub split would in most, if not all cases, earn twitch more money as communities would be more incentivised to use twitch's features of support. I would like to see a reduction in recurring self-paid subscription requirements to an achievable number for partners such as 50-100, but an additional criteria of a number such as 300-400 gifted subscriptions over a period of 3 months. The streaming space is changing, companies are showing that 70/30 is achievable, whilst continuing to flourish as a service. Only giving this industry standard to 2.5% of partners is unfair, unjust and despicable.
