This experiment is now closed as the new mobile redesign is rolling out to all users. Thank you for all your feedback during the experiment. We released an update to respect your autoplay settings in the feed, muted the feed on open by default (you can adjust this in your settings), and added mute functionality directly to the feed to give you more control over your viewing experience. We also enabled PIP over feed and have been continuing to improve app performance since launch. Learn more about the new app on our blog and continue to share feedback with us on the improved experience in the mobile category on UserVoice.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tadur commentedThe fact that there are no custom sorting options for the channel list is bad enough (i.e. no favorites or manual sorting), but now I have to scroll 5x as much to reach lower viewer count streams. This UI change is so bad for discoverability and viewer retention for smaller streams. At least give us display options like switching between thumbnails/details/etc in Windows Explorer.

On 2/2, we will turn off Chants.
While this feature was popular, we observed negative impacts to minutes watched for significant groups of creators.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!An error occurred while saving the comment Tadur commentedThis feature is extremely invasive. It kicks off pointless spam that drowns out conversations. It has a UI popup that appears right where you are looking when reading chat AND requires interaction to dismiss quickly. It makes the "PogChamp" moments in streams feel cheap because the chat exploding as a reaction is no longer organic, and is instead initiated by a popup. PLEASE just remove it, or at bare minimum provide an option to completely disable it (including hiding every chat message from other users utilizing it to spam). I'm getting really tired of coding or installing extensions to deal with all the pointless UI clutter you guys keep introducing. Let the platform do what it's already good at instead of getting in the way of it.

This is the worst update in the history of this platform. Terrible UI and UX decisions across the board. Autoplaying video content with autoplay setting disabled in options is extremely frustrating.
I've now unfollowed dozens of streams I had been following for close to a decade in an attempt to make it slightly tolerable and it's still unbearable to use. Plenty of streams I'm happy to watch on occasion or when my interests align with their "streaming meta", but can't stand being forced to scroll through them autoplaying just because they have a high viewer count, as many of them are loud and obnoxious at times, and currently streaming content I have no interest in. Before I could just not click on them, now that content is being force-fed. Even after curating my followed channels, it then starts autoplaying random streams I have never watched and have 0 interest in instead, which is somehow even worse. Blocking and flagging as "not interested" for dozens of channels/categories and it still repeatedly shoves terrible content I don't want to watch in my face.
I can no longer browse followed channels while continuing to watch a stream in the small picture-in-picture window. This is a huge UX downgrade since there is no way to continue enjoying content while checking to see if something else more appealing is live.
It now requires extra actions to reach followed channels list for no benefit.
Obnoxious UI clutter like clips that I have no interest in and will never interact with.
On top of all that it seems to drain battery faster than before, which is not a welcome change on older devices with waning battery life.
Sadly I've entirely left multiple platforms that I had been a heavy user of for more than a decade within the past few years due to clueless companies gutting the usefulness of their core product. This is a huge step in the same direction for Twitch.
