Hi all! We really appreciate all of the wonderful feedback and passion surrounding this topic. Reading through the comments, we wanted to clarify one point that may have caused confusion:

The purpose of this experiment with new directories is intended to better highlight broad groupings of content by bringing them together in directories where they wouldn’t be in direct competition with each other, increasing their exposure. In this way, creative content stands to have better exposure by being separated from gaming, etc. We will know better once the experiment concludes and we’re able to review the data in full.

That being said, through your feedback, we also recognize that the broad naming of the category as “IRL” doesn’t acknowledge that Creative and IRL content are distinct. We will be evaluating the results of the experiment to determine how we can continue to best support communities’ growth, while ensuring we are…

There is appeciating feedback, and then there is actually listening to feedback.

Data can only tell you only numbers, not the thoughts and opinions of the people behind those numbers.

I am sure that we all appreciate that you are trying to make the platform better, whether that be obtaining site-wide licences for music to protect the streamers who generate money for Twitch or highlighting specific main categories over others to bring them exposure.

But by burying the entire Creative section (including Science & Programming) under IRL is a serious flaw in your thinking on this matter, NONE of the categories within Creative come anywhere close to IRL.

Giving Creative it's own main directory like you have for Gaming||Music||IRL|| Esports is all the 5800++ people who voted on this issue are asking for, it is a LOW COST/FREE FIX to a major issue between Twitch and the creative/arts streamers on the platform.

We are literally asking for one thing, the same exposure as every other main category/directory on Twitch has the privilige of getting.

Creative streamers - Artists, 2D, 3D, Hard Surface, Organic, Sculpters, Traditional, Game Developers and Programmers should have their own category on this platform.
IRL is not Creative and Creative is not IRL, they are ENTIRELY different areas of scope, stop trying to merge them in to one, it is unfair on streamers and you will lose a lot of income when people abandon your platform due to your own negligence.

Hi, I know that this is a very late response, but we’re hoping to find time to address this issue later this year. There are a few steps we’ll have to take to solve this problem in a way that will work for all streamers, but we understand the severity of the issue.
