Hi, I know that this is a very late response, but we’re hoping to find time to address this issue later this year. There are a few steps we’ll have to take to solve this problem in a way that will work for all streamers, but we understand the severity of the issue.

TL/DR: If a streamer doesn't want a user on their channel / watching their stream, there should be a way to completely remove them from it. Banning only stops them from talking, but they're still able to remain in the channel. A kick function would be a welcome addition.

People have to remember. Whether the bots are doing anything against ToS is irrelevant. If someone doesn't want them or any user on their channel, there should be a way to remove said bot / user and prevent them from coming back / view the stream.

With some sort of Kick function, the people who aren't bothered by these bots can keep ignoring and have said bots stay on their streams. While those who don't want them have an option to remove them. Not all of these bots have some sort of "Type this phrase to make me leave" method.

Not to mention the kick function can also be used to remove actual users that the streamer doesn't want around at all.

@Monkey As has been said before, this isn't just for the bots / data miners. It's also for the ability to keep unwanted people from being able to access channels. Unlike how banning them will still let them sit there, watch the stream only unable to chat. We want to be able to cut them off completely.

@Critango These bots can be in thousands of channels at a time. I don't see how any one account could keep them there and not on anyone else's channel.

@N3td3v I've spoken to CommanderRoot as well. He's the guy who runs the CommanderRoot bot. It's a bot in the same way that HydrationBot is. If not, there wouldn't be a sentence that you can input to have them leave your channel permanently.

And that's one of the reasons I'm ok with his style of bot. There's actually a way to make him leave permanently. So does Lanfusion and one other that I'm forgetting.

No, we want a way to remove people from our channels. Not just banning them, because that still lets them stay there. We want to be able to completely stop them from being in our channels. No lurking, no idling. Banning people still lets them hang around and watch the stream. We want to go further and get people we don't want in our channel to not be able to do that.

The fact that a lot of us will probably also be using this kick feature (if implemented) on bots, is just a bonus. But it doesn't have to be exclusively used on Bots.

Either way, we do not want your or any other bots in our channels and want a way to Kick them permanently.

Philderbeast streamed themselves working on the bot too:

Guess Twitch is just letting this happen.

Add 0_applebadapple_0 and Woppes to the list. So, how many bots does that make now? How many till they're actually something that Twitch will do something about?

Agreed. Change the way bans work and have banning someone remove them from the channel and be unable to return as well. Simply muting unwanted people / bots accounts doesn't really do anything.

It's like every month there's a new bot account. Next thing you know all streams will probably have 10 viewers each, and all of them will be bot accounts. On top of that, going to the channels of these accounts, and you just see people asking for "Follow for Follow". I personally don't think that sort of practice has any room on the platform. It's not the same as actual networking with like-minded streamers.
