Hi, I know that this is a very late response, but we’re hoping to find time to address this issue later this year. There are a few steps we’ll have to take to solve this problem in a way that will work for all streamers, but we understand the severity of the issue.

I am also fed up with these unwanted bots in my channel. Twitch I love you for the possibilities you give us. So please finally address this problems, because the situation with these bots is getting worse. Right now, I am not live, just prepared the tools for the stream and already the annoying "decafsmurf and electricalskateboard" are appearing in my viewer list! I dislike having a bloated viewerlist that screws with my analytics.
More importantly Twitch Guide holds us responsible for whats going on in chat and for whats happening to our fellow streamers when we decide to host or raid them. While this should be a pleasant surprise for the affected streamer, they will receive also these bots in their channel. This is about to become a real pandemic and reporting them effectively is not working out, as you can see by the comments under this article made one year ago. We know you work hard, but please give us means to protect our channels, viewers and other streamers. For a healthier future on Twitch. This is important!
