    Environment:

    • Device: iPhone 17 Pro
    • iOS: 26 (latest public build)
    • Twitch app: 26.1.3 (latest from App Store)
    • Account: Twitch Turbo (no ads)
    • Network: Wi‑Fi (home network)
    • Low Power Mode: Off
    • Audio output: Phone speaker and Bluetooth headphones
    • Other media apps: None running in background

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Open Twitch app and start a live stream in full‑screen mode.
    2. Lock the device or switch to another app — stream continues playing in background as expected.
    3. Return to Twitch app (stream still in full‑screen).
    4. Lock the device or switch apps again.

    Expected Result:
Stream continues playing in background every time, regardless of returning to the app.

    Actual Result:
After returning to the app once, background playback no longer works — stream stops immediately when locking the device or switching apps. Only force‑quitting and relaunching Twitch restores background playback for one cycle.

    Frequency:
Occurs every time following the above steps.

    Content Types Tested:
Live streams (appears to affect all tested channels). Not yet tested with VODs or clips.

    Additional Notes:

    • Occurs on both phone speaker and Bluetooth headphones.
    • No correlation with ads (Turbo account).
    • Not yet tested on cellular data.

Edit: This seems to be resolved with 26.2? (The app still pauses randomly when playing in the background, but that’s a different issue)
