It's incredibly difficult to be a creator within ANZ, we don't have any Twitch Con or massive population numbers but we have heart. The heart that is shown ever hear during these incredible events that showcase and bring to light so many hardworking, magical and deserving creators that would otherwise would not have the platform to share their stories.
NAIDOC for example is a very important time in Australia, having a showcase of First Nations creators has pushed people on the front page who have shocked and awed the wider public with their creativity and story telling.
These events have helped certain groups feel seen in a world in which they usually feel invisible.
These events have opened the eyes to others who may have never shared in these arts, cultures or history.
We understand the work load, a thread I posted on Twitter did get feedback saying we are joining up with all of English Speaking Oceania. Though where is the announcements, where's the cheeky posts or interactions. Where's the visibility for small streamers, showing us that twitch does infact see us, twitch does infact care about these nations down here more than just increasing our cost of Subscriptions to $8.99 each.
It has been a devasting year but I was looking forward to creative week, as well as the hype that surrounds those who are accepted into the honorable halls of grassroots. These events make twitch, twitch. Without them there isn't as much to look forward to..
