I did some additional testing yesterday. I tested with 2 LG tvs. One was th e 2021 G1. The other was a 2021 model# 43UM7300PUA.

Using the twitch app available via the lg app store: on the non G1, I was able to have the chat stay up for at least 10 minutes. It was still up at the 10 min mark but I stopped my test. I tried the same on the G1 and the chat went away after exactly 2 minutes.

I then tested my Google Chromecast TV (the one with the built in OS and a remote) on both TV's. I used the twitch app available via the Google app store for the Chromecast tv. Using it on both the non G1 and the G1 I was able to get at least 10 minutes without the chat going away.

So either the twitch app was configured to work differently for the G1, or LG is doing something on the tv to make the chat go away.

As a work around now, I'm going to use my Chromecast TV since it doesn't make the chat go away after 2 minutes. Hopefully that helps some of you.

Having this issue with the LG G1. I'm not sure why this is happening, some rumored it's to help with burn in. We should be given an option if so. On older non OLED LG models this isn't an issue it seems.
