Require Masks at Twitch Con NA
While I understand that currently the CDC is not requiring masks at events, I feel the staff of Twitch and the goers of Twitch Con NA have a duty to ensure con-goers are safe.
As it stands on the CDC COVID tracker website (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#datatracker-home) you can see the fluctuations of the virus and the numbers are on an upward incline already and those numbers are only until January 6th.
From what the US itself is experiencing, much less the entire world taking into account international travelers who would be coming, a mask mandate for the convention should be put in place for not only NA but also for the EU.

We are currently experiencing one of the worst waves of COVID since all of this began. As a society we have rushed back towards this false sense of normalcy without doing any of the actual work. Individualistic short-term thinking will never lead to a long-term future for any of us. We need to support a world where disabled people have the same access to life as anyone else. Masking is the first actionable step and bare minimum to that!

Yes! Lets all return to our homes with the lesser risk of bringing the ick!

100% agree. Every convention should be requiring KN/N95s and providing them for free for attendees!

I completely agree with all sentiments laid out in regards to this matter. Please make this a priority and masks mandatory for convention participation. Not only will you be protecting your streamers, but also every staff member in attendance. Make the headlines for being proactive, not for being another super-spreader event.

I know many, including myself, have no intention of attending such an event without proper health and safety measures put in place. Enforcing masks is a very simple and very basic example of this and would help everyone involved.

as an immunocompromised disabled twitch content creator, holding unmasked gatherings even if i am masked myself increases my risk of getting sick.
covid is at its worse now than it has been, and it is only going to get worse if no one takes it seriously. twitch, please reconsider your stance on the no masking policy and make it mandated. it protects you, me, and everyone else from infection.

This should be a no brainer. The rates of covid infection between TC 22 and TC 23 were a night and day difference.

Have never gotten sick from masked events, always get con flu usually.

Rates are very high for covid. People are dying.
Do the right thing, lead by example and mandate the masks. -

Masks are a great way to cut down on illness transmission in general, including the “con crud” everyone loves so much. Much of the Twitch community is immunocomprised and/or disabled and would feel more comfortable with an indoor mask requirement. Thank you Faevyn for leading the way with this uservoice 🙏🏾

Many streamers and community members got sick with COVID in TwitchCon 2023 due to the lifting of the mask policy from 2022. If Twitch cares about its streamers, they can and should enforce a mask policy for all TwitchCons from here on out. By not having a mask policy, you're putting streamers at high risk of getting Long COVID, which can permanently affect their ability to stream. In addition, getting sick at large conventions like this was already extremely common before the current pandemic, making them unsafe for immunocompromised people to attend them, and it sucks in general to get sick anyway. Many people are also immunocompromised by having had COVID before. People shouldn't have to go to a convention expecting to get sick, especially during a pandemic with a virus that continues to mutate dangerously.
