Obviously what you're suggesting would be an improvement over what currently exists all on it's own, but I think it could be done better.
I think it would be even better if this was expanded so that what you are suggesting worked for series of games rather than just versions of a single game. Many series like pokemon are so similar between games that whether you're streaming red version or emerald or ultra moon barely matters.
This also makes it easier for people to find what they wanna see, as , at least in my experience, people want to watch anyone playing from any of a series of games more than they want to see someone play one specific game from a series, and having the current system where categories are spread out by each single game just makes it harder to search through everything. Having a filterable category for each series by the games in said series would make the whole site just so much easier to use.
