I think this is a reasonable feature request, especially for Twitch Partners who have used a particular username for years. If an old name is reserved and cannot be claimed by anyone else, it would make sense to offer a clear process for recovering it, with reasonable restrictions to prevent abuse. Better account management policies can improve the user experience while keeping usernames secure and consistent. I think this is a reasonable feature request, especially for Twitch Partners who have used a particular username for years and want to return to it. If a previous username is being reserved and cannot be claimed by other users, it would be helpful to have a clear policy for requesting its restoration, with appropriate eligibility requirements and security measures.

A more flexible username management system could improve the overall account experience while maintaining Twitch’s existing naming policies.
