    I strongly support this suggestion.

Since this suggestion was originally posted in December 2025, the situation has become even more confusing for creators who are trying to follow Twitch's rules correctly.

In February 2026, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy publicly discussed changing the enforcement approach around combined chat. However, the current Twitch Terms of Service, last modified on August 12, 2026, still state in the Simulcast Guidelines that creators must not use third-party services that “combine activity from other platforms or services” on their Twitch stream, with “merging chat” given as an example.

There is also still no clear written guidance explaining the distinction between:

    - Merging Twitch and other-platform chats into a single feed displayed on stream.
    - Displaying Twitch chat and another platform's chat in separate, clearly labeled areas on the same stream.
    - Using an aggregated multi-platform chat tool that is visible only to the broadcaster.

I contacted Twitch Support multiple times to clarify the first two cases, including submitting the question again in English to avoid any possible translation issue. I specifically asked whether each case was prohibited or not prohibited, but I did not receive a direct answer. The existing Simulcast rule was repeated instead.

This makes the issue larger than whether merged chat improves or harms the viewer experience. It is also a policy clarity and documentation issue.

Creators who genuinely want to comply with Twitch's rules should be able to determine from the published Terms of Service and Simulcast Guidelines what is permitted and what is prohibited, without having to guess how the rule will be interpreted.

Please update the Terms of Service and/or Simulcast Guidelines to clearly reflect Twitch's current policy and enforcement approach, and provide explicit examples covering:

    - Merged multi-platform chat displayed on stream
    - Separate, clearly labeled chat boxes from different platforms displayed on stream
    - Multi-platform chat aggregation visible only to the broadcaster

Clear written guidance would make the rules easier to follow, reduce uncertainty for creators, and reduce repeated support inquiries seeking clarification.
