My husband and I both used to stream traditional art. At some point he would have an average of 20 or more watching his streams, and his streams continued to grow every month. Covid hit, twitch took on a huge influx of streamers, and viewers. But the art category became overwhelmed with digital art. He struggled to find people to raid, traditonal art streams struggled to find each other, and viewers stopped using the category because they weren't interested in digital. The community that he and his fellow streamers built over 3 or more years was dismantled in a few months. It broke my heart when he stopped streaming art. I think if he saw a new traditional art category for his paintings, or sculptures, it might be enough for him to return, and bring back some of his community that he keeps in touch with on discord. But without it, I don't really see him coming back to attempt to be visible in a sea of digital.
