I am thinking of creating my own stream extension / integration that implements this, but it would be awesome if it were natively supported.
Supporting that within the UI itself on mobile would also be really awesome.
I would prefer this not only for the tie-breaking fashion, but also to encourage user engagement. By including a fairer decision making mechanism, it would increase the user engagement within many already small communities, and prevent feelings of disappointment when decisions were already decided by such a small margin.
Since preferential voting often also has many rounds of counting that happens behind the scenes, you could also configure some interesting and suspenseful moments if you could have some integrated graphics.
