Twitch should pay its mods -
The affiliated or partnered streamer would have to enable their Twitch to pay mods. Then, they choose the percentage it gives divided between their mods, and mods only get paid on streams they are actively in (much like they keep track of a regular user's activity).
In most instances we pay 40% extra for bits, and streamers make 50% of subs.
Well, mods would get paid from Twitch's portion.
For example that 40% extra for bits, 20% to channel mods, 20% to Twitch. That 50% of subs? 20% to channel mods, 30% to Twitch.
That would encourage mods to watch and participate in the channels, and keep the community safer.
And if the streamer wishes to pay their mods more, they could dip into their percentage to distribute that in addition to the Twitch cut. Or, alternatively they could opt to give their ad revenue to their mods.
Mods getting paid would also incentivize mods to advertise the streams they mod for more. As well as garner the community and encourage them to donate bits as well as gift subs.
And, Twitch could use that as a tax write off, I am sure. If a channel opts in to use Twitch's cut to pay for their mods, Twitch would be able to claim that as a loss of profits and get a tax break, I am sure.
