This is a response to the comment below, about tags. #Writing *is* already a tag on Twitch, but it is HIGHLY misused. Most streams under the #writing tag have nothing to do with writing at all, creative or otherwise. I have rarely been able to find a fellow writer using the tag system. I also find that the tag system is rarely used as a way to *search* for streams to begin with, and is more of a list of common interests (nationality, language, sexual orientation, etc) and stream caveats at the time (no backseating, casual playthrough, etc) to draw you in. They give you an idea of what to expect, but not necessarily what to look for.

A proper Creative Writing Category would cut down on the issue of tag misuse, and give people a better chance at finding streams actually catering to writing. I've been streaming my writing weekly for almost a year now, under Art, and using the #writing and #original-work tags, and the connections I've made with other writers on Twitch has been coincidental at best, unfortunately. I would love to be able to explore other streams and expand my communities more thoughtfully, rather than stumble across others among several other categories.

I would absolutely love to see Creative Writing turned into its own category on twitch. I've had some of my best interactions come from my writing streams, but I'm constantly bouncing between the Art, Just Chatting, and Makers & Crafting categories trying to figure out where I can reach the most people, and I've found that, even though the #writing tag is how most people have found me, it's also so often ignored or misused.

I recognize so many of the usernames I see in these comments, as other writers who have stumbled across me and vice-versa in the twitch world, and I'd love to be able to connect more with them and their communities!

Streaming my writing over the last year has been an amazing experience for me. It's let me share my biggest passion with friends, it's opened me up to new ways of thinking and expressing myself through my writing, and it has been such an inspiration to keep going forward with my goals. Please, please consider making Creative Writing its own category!!
