While i do like the idea as it adds a monetary value to their bans, it unfortunately also allows for way too much trolling that only benefits the trolls. If you get unfairly banned. It also makes me wonder how you would enforce the fine at that point considering not everyone has their card linked to their account, making it impossible to enforce the fine and would most likely push people more towards one-off cards if they are just a viewer. One of the options for trolling there is being flagged as a malicious bot even though you are not a bot ) then you still have to pay that fine because a troll just wanted to be a pain. Now, if it is just a new account, they will just make a new account and ignore the fine entirely which bypasses the entire idea while the older accounts will either feel forced to pay in order to regain access if their appeal gets accepted ( as it is not even certain their account will get reinstated in the first place ) or get told that if they want to regain their account, they just need to pay the fine instead of doing an appeal. Just a few potential problems i can think of that only benefits the trolls. Oh and another potential downside ( although this one can also be seen as a positive depending on how you look at it ) is that it will chase people away from twitch. The downside is that you will get less people overall but the upside is that trolls will be less inclined to return once they get caught and are forced to pay before they can make any new accounts

Would be nice if they indeed did something like that yeah. Already had to report multiple accounts of a specific person ( only remember around 5 of their accounts thanks to just keeping a log after a while ) and the bugger keeps coming back thanks to their obsession with 3 streamers as far as i know. So having them being unable to actually make accounts after getting banned again would be nice

Acerswap, why would you want troll mods in the first place then? In my experience, troll mods only make things harder for the streamer and their community which is the opposite that you want a mod to do.

    Relevant Update  ·  Ana responded

    Thank you for your feedback.

For context, we had two problems we were trying to address with this UI update:

    • We have some features planned down the line that will not work as widgets and need a new space within Mod View. While we hope that they will warrant the addition of the top nav bar, we understand that it currently feels like a poor use of space.
    • We have heard that users new to Mod View find the interface overwhelming. Some of the tweaks to the interface were intended to help with this.

With that said, we acknowledge that this update may feel like a downgrade for users comfortable with the density of information presented in the previous Mod View. We’ll be looking into ways to improve the experience for our power users (as well as new) while making room for new features. In the meantime, we have added…

I second these suggestions. Before this change, i had the widgets for blocked and permitted under the viewer list but now things like that are in a drop down menu which just feels clunky to me. Maybe it would be a better idea to have us choose which one we want in the drop down menu if they are insisting on us using that thing so that we can still have a lay-out that works for our needs.
Overall, this mod view UI update just feels bad as the font is harder to read, too much space between widgets and the widgets that are needed are partially hidden in dropdown menus now.
