An error occurred while saving the comment Zombiepaper_ supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Zombiepaper_ commentedOriginally, there was a suggestion related to alcohol ads specifically, so you'll see ad comments related to this. Because this doesn't look good to Twitch's brand, they're lumped this in by closing that case and merging it with this case that is somewhat related. Hopefully the ad changes here will address my concerns listed below, but I am doubtful. I cannot advertise alcohol on my channel, and Twitch doesn't give a since concern over that.
The suggestion Twitch rolled this into was suggested "September 21, 2015" - That's how long Twitch has been aware of but has not done anything about advertising problems on their platform.
Twitch values its alcohol advertisers's money more than its customers. I have been receiving one beer ad for nearly a month now. I contacted that company and told them, as a recovering alcoholic of 8+ years I would never buy their product, and they agreed that it is a waste of money to advertise to me. Twitch doesn't care though. Twitch blasts out ads to whoever. Their gear-icon settings to "this ad is offensive" or "this ad is irrelevant" don't work because their algorithm continues blasting me with alcohol ads. I have reached out to support3@twitch.tv and their Twitter account with no success.

An error occurred while saving the comment Zombiepaper_ commentedSince seeing the new policy over usernames, I have still seen usernames that break Twitch's Community Safety guidelines like this. An easy way to resolve this problem is to ban words that are generally harmful to most people and specifically harmful to select groups. As one of the largest social media platforms around, this should be mission critical to keep the brand accessible to the most amount of people.

An error occurred while saving the comment Zombiepaper_ commentedEvery single streamer on Twitch I've seen over the past 8+ months receives random bots that advertise a Bigfollows service.
This service seems like it should be against Twitch Terms of Service. Although not stated, it would perhaps fall under section 9, "ii. impersonate any person or entity" because buying followers would be impersonating real people. But this is a loose interpretation. It seems like Twitch endorses the bigfollows service by allowing the bots to appear and spam chats with links that always include the word "bigfollows."
If broadcasters ban this word, the bots cannot post the link. Why not do a site-wide ban on the word "bigfollows" first, then figure out the exploit on how so many bots are able to crawl across every new and established streamer, to spam links to this service?

An error occurred while saving the comment Zombiepaper_ commentedTwitch continues to push alcohol ads on me even though I repeatedly use the gear icon to report alcohol ads as abusive. To a sober person like myself, alcohol ads are a violation of Twitch's TOS, line 9v, regarding abusive behavior. I have filed dozens of reports to Twitch and tweeted them for months with no response.

An error occurred while saving the comment Zombiepaper_ commentedIt would be nice to see everyone else's pronouns easily and have that option easily accessible for any chatter.

I have been sober from alcohol for over 10 years. Twitch has no option to disable ads based on alcohol content. In 2020-2021, if you marked an ad as offensive, Twitch would market that ad genre more to you because you interacted with it, resulting in alcohol ad after alcohol ad. That is harassment with no ambiguity. I suspect the same is true for jump-scare ads. Don't like an ad? If you mark it as offensive, then, you must want more of that ad since you interacted with it.
