Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

I was notified when I went live that my boost had started. I had 2 days to raise the channel points. My community came in big and put the channel points forth. It literally did nothing for exposure. I saw no difference in viewership from using the boost versus a regular stream. I'm not sure where it puts you on the list of channels, how it promotes you, etc but as a small content creator, I expected it to run a bit different. I expected it to put me in the top of the page for a limited time to allow more exposure for my channel. It's a great idea, but it needs a lot of work. I also think it should be used for affiliates only and not partners. Twitch should keep control of the cost of channel points for the boost. Allowing streamers direct control of the cost for the boost would be a major problem.
Pros: Its a step in the right direction, it engages your community to help you as a creator out, and it has potential to change how people are discovered on Twitch organically.
Cons: It did nothing for growth while the boost occurred. The boost was difficult to understand when it would happen. The url that provides information on the boost is limited. I get that its a new feature and it's being developed.
