Thanks for the request. This was actually our first idea too, but it’s been difficult to think of a way to do it without making the Ban flow too complicated, especially for Mods who are currently using the Mod Action buttons next to messages to Ban.

We have heard the feedback in this idea & its comments and reworked chat replies to reduce noise. By allowing users to reply directly to a specific message in a thread, only the user being responded to will be @'ed, rather than the user whose comment initiated the thread. Adding an option to disable it entirely and an option to keep it enabled but limit it to moderators / streamer only would be really useful.

I think this would be extremely useful! Maybe not to all moderators because I could see Twitch losing a lot of revenue to that for Affiliates, but at least to moderation bots like Nightbot.
