HH is based in Connecticut and has been rescuing millions of pounds of food and distributing it to community centers across the state on a shoe-string budget for several years.

I have volunteered with them for two years and the work that they do is incredible. The relationships that develop between the regular volunteers and the folks living at the various community centers are exceptional and genuine. The food is always brought to a location within a small radius to ensure the carbon footprint of the rescue itself is as small as possible, the food is all high quality and is delivered to local communities without political, religious, or racial bias. Food insecurity and food waste are two immense issues that can be leveraged to directly address one another and there are no organizations in CT that are doing this remotely as effectively as Haven's Harvest.
