How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. Allow mods to see if and where users are banned in other channels. This is would be applicable if a user is using a streamers emotes in another channel and being toxic while they are banned in the chat where they are using the emotes from.
This would make the streamer whose emotes they are using look bad/make the community look bad meanwhile they could be banned in the community they are using the emotes from.
This could be shown when a moderator opens a users card.

  3. The “block” function is the greatest exercise of power in chatting on twitch. This feature has the function of eliminating spam bots, political propaganda, and other obviously harmful entities that make comments knowing that they will be blocked.
However, I think there is another side to this feature. This is the “monster-making machine” aspect. First of all, except for comments that are intentionally blocked as mentioned above, the first thing a blocked person does is to create a sub-account. I’ll skip the discussion of whether this in itself is a good thing or a bad thing, as that is not…

  4. I think twitch needs more admins for review stream, TOS and grief from french speaking community . I think it's important for them to make a safer place and not overly trolling spot and everything

  6. As a safety feature, people who stream gambling content should include both (Regulated Casino and Country's Currency used to gamble) or (Unregulated Casino and Crypto-Currency) in the title of their stream so people know if the streamer is using Regulated or Unregulated sites so people who gamble in general and/or have a gambling addiction know what they are getting themselves into if they choose to sign-up to the gambling site that the streamer is playing on.

Reason I included people who have gambling addictions is because regulated sites have the feature for the gambler to self-exclude themselves from gambling but…

  7. It can be rather unintuitive to post links as evidence in user reports, as they're not parsed and can easily be overlooked. Therefore, to reinforce user reports more effectively, I suggest that Twitch upload files as attachments therein, such as pictures and video files.

  8. When a streamer is suspended, screenshots should be included of the violation. Streamers are bound to repeat the issue if the issue is not made clear.

Multiple staff members should see the reports before a ban is decided upon. These moderators would work separately, without the influence of one another, to decide if the ban should occur or not. If both moderators do not hit 'yes' to the ban then the ban should not occur.

An example, my latest ban happened while a Twitch Staff member was in my chat. This member did not see anything against TOS and was…

  10. The community guidelines prohibit spam, one of the categories of which being posting large amounts of repetitive, unwanted messages or user reports, such as this:https://twitter.com/DomGang420/status/1441270323429576709/photo/1

However, I have yet to see any users be punished for doing this, and I understand that a lot of users have been clamoring for ways to deal with it for a while now. Adding on to all of the ideas put forth so far, I would ask that Twitch deals with users who continue to spam in chat better than it apparently deals with them now.

  11. Similar to the idea of denying incoming raids - once it is determined that the raid is malicious, the mods/streamer can ban/remove all raid members with one click. (+Are you sure you want to ban all raid members for raidname)

Issues with this: 1. they will just privately join the channel in raid-like fashion.
    2. rare chance of getting 2 raids at once, one from a 'friend' and another 'malicious' and banning friendly viewers.

  13. "Hateful conduct is any content or activity that promotes or encourages discrimination, denigration, harassment, or violence based on the following protected characteristics: race, ethnicity, color, caste, national origin, immigration status, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious medical condition, and veteran status." - Twitch Community Guidelines (As of 30 September 2021)

By that metric, global emotes such as "TriHard" and "cmonBruh" should be removed as they primarily serve to spread anti-black racism throughout the community. Any honest twitch user can attest to this. I see no reasonable excuse for keeping them.

  14. Please make a chat filter which allows you to ban users with brand new accounts or accounts that are X days/hours/weeks old (give the streamer a choice.) It will prevent people from harassing streamers who just make new accounts after they've been banned and continue to harass.

  15. Hi,

I had today a bug that my text wasn't allowed due "Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings."
The mods and streamer didn't saw my message, even in the chat with a mod my text was blocked ... (also not in there mod messages)

My two texts that were blocked are:

    • du willst ja Freitag vieleicht ein IRL Stream machen, Alina sagte gerade dass Bobi sein Kleidprobetag am Freitag wäre matta9Silly

    • wenn du für Alina was malst, würde ich nicht das Buschi mit dem Herz machen, da sie schon von jemanden diese Zeichnung bekam…

  16. Logs should only be available to the moderation team and the existence of third party websites that are using bots to constantly save chatlogs represents a potential security problem for the user. They shouldn't be publicly available

In this specific case I'm talking about, https://logs.ivr.fi/ that uses a twitch irc bot easily available in, https://github.com/gempir/justlog

I hope there is a way to control this or at least make it harder to setup.

  17. I would like to see more clarification on the Community Guidlines - Additional Gaming Content Guidelines. It states "Linking to sites that include slots, roulette, or dice games, or sharing affiliate links or referral codes to such sites is not allowed."

This leaves content creators at a guess as to what they can actually do. Can they speak about it? Can they link to their own homepages (and have the links there)? Is any gambling website (non-casino) allowed to advertise still in stream or links?

  18. Having a leveling system that streamers can set the parameters of leveling So that the streamer has more control over there stream bassed on the level of that person thats in there, the nore they chat and interact the higher the level goes, also makes it easier for mods knowing if they have been in there bassed on the level rather than looking at when they followed, the streamer can even set perks for that viewer when they reached a level in the channel, this if more for putting guildlines in place to safe guard the channels plus make it…

  19. A few days I came across a creator who has his moderator in a group with other live moderators, they play on the same server as GTA V. If someone does something bad in the chat of some live, they are banned in all of them like others.

My idea is the following: The permanent ban is not ideal for us to be making the person to have a good attitude again. Create a "prison" mode for people who made mistakes to have a chance to return to chat normally.

  20. As Slot / Gambling Streamers appear more and more there should be a safety option for those none streaming people that are gambling. There should be a way to step out lock down the Slot categorys and channels for 30 days / 90 days / 1 year to help those people stepping away from gambling. Slot streamers are a big risk for everyone… specialy for young people. Most people think they can do the same and win every day and it is very easy to get to the same status as the streamer cash wise… But most of them will…
