  1. Many streamers are currently being flooded by bots. There are no adequate filter mechanisms such as Captcha or other authentication methods that probe the creation of multiple fake accounts.

Twitch should use a secure authentication method for account creation as soon as possible so that so-called bot accounts and fake accounts can no longer be created in the future.

These bots make it unnecessarily difficult for honest streamers to apply for a partnership. In addition, it is almost impossible for streamers to prove that they have not bought or deliberately used any bots such as follower bots.

    Dear community, please…

  2. Hey! Just an idea but it would be nice when you go to your "users in chat" section and filter out which one is a bot account vs real viewers.

I know that would probably be difficult to filter, however someone could build some data to find all bot accounts and have them filtered like you would with moderation in chat.

that would make things easier to know whos who and be able to know who is actually viewing the stream vs who isn't.

  4. Note: this idea includes links to where security vulnerabilities were found because having that knowledge is better for tackling the issue heads on.

I am a mod for AshuriiYuki who got hit with a hate raid and bot follow spam pretty early in her stream on April 19th, 2022. Between AshuriiYuki and her mods, we were able to handle the raid without much incident, though AshuriiYuki is upset over the incident.

As a postmortem: the raid was most likely initiated by nottoggl3d who joined stream and said "wow you're bad". Screen shot of their message included. Immediately thereafter there were…

  5. When we are follow botted we get massive follows within seconds of each other, please mark these in a diffrent color so if we want we can remove them manually or ban them easily. This alone will help build up a tracking system with twitch being able to ID the main user name as it will appear the most and ban it to help others with being spammed.

  6. Twitch currently allows rampant view-botting because the view count includes embedded twitch apps in external websites. This creates a huge imbalance and unfair playing field for streamers who dont cheat.

Nobody watches streams from external websites. They go there for info on any topic and are automatically counted as a viewer. Just think of the ways this can be exploited. I see it all the time on Twitch.

The biggest way people discover streams is by who has the highest view count. This is a critical number that should be honest.

After you fix this part of viewbotting, then we…

  7. I have been thinking about an easy way to ban multiple banned users on multiple channels. I am thinking especially of names that violate the guidelines or are known to be bot accounts. Especially with regard to followbot and chatbot attacks.
A Simple Txt-file that you can export and import would be enough.

  8. The current wave of harassment bots mass generate accounts seconds before they follow, typically making accounts and following sequentially so that their usernames read out as a torrent of abuse.
It is clear that automation is used to create these accounts and command them to follow. It should not be possible to create accounts with automation.
    Therefore do the following things:
Implement recapture or other real human authentication method for account creation.
IP block for account creation on the same IP within an hour.
Introduce a feature to Shield Mode that prevents unverified accounts from being able to follow at…

  9. I have been streaming today, I got raided by a real streamer but they had BOTS in their stream and now they have come into my stream and sending me over 100 followers non stop over on my page and it will not stop. I am not happy about this and wish to have something done, I was originally at 1,804 followers and now I am all the way at 2300+ it is A JOKE. This twitch needs to prevent this from happening. I do not want fake followers or bots in my stream, throughout my whole stream and continuing…

  10. Hire proffessional coders to fix the botting issue. There should be a bot in everyones chat that can detect a hate raid or bot attack and stop it. Streamers shouldnt have to rely on sery_bot and commanderroot to feel safe especially when, alot of the time, unfortunaley those are not enough. Twitch itself needs to step up and do something about the serious bot problem on their website, not send their users automated messages when they try to report the problem.

  11. Hello Twitch and other readers

unfortunatly many bot-accounts are around and new one are creating at the moment. Some friends, other streamers are targeted with attacks with bot-accounts.

They have something to do from your side twitch, specially that some Bots have tools to get the IP from people who visit the Accountpage ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdyBV3Zoa0Y ) should be a signal for u to investigate fast as possible.

In the last few days/weeks i experience that hoss00312 are around i followed (and unfollowed) me with multiple accounts.
What do you suggest to do, when people experience something like that? I know…

  12. In my 13 years of being on the website I can only recall a few times I've used the whisper function, majority of which were people contacting me [as a moderator] for an unban. The hundreds, possibly thousands of other times were merely bots using the feature to spam links which I can only assume are all malicious.
Now I don't have any data on how useful the whisper function is for actual people but I would take a guess and say 80-90% of all whisper messages are likely spam/bots. I would just like to propose the removal of the…

  13. This week i got follow botted - 170 bots on my channel. I took them all off but it took me a little bit to go through everything. Wish there was a fail-safe - unless someone is gifting subscriptions, no followers should be able to be purchased and put on someones account. This would also make it so creators cant buy followers that are fake. makes your ratings go down when you have a large number of followers but no one watching/ interacting and is not good for the channel

  14. When whisper scambots [click link to lose steam credentials] are reported and confirmed to be scambots, twitch should contact the link site registrar and report abuse to stop new bot accounts continuing to spam that site.
Also whispers should have reported & confirmed links filtered so the whisper isn't delivered.
Twitch should also report to google.

  15. Stop allowing all these channel bots to be created by users. They offer no viewer count and do nothing for channel growth. Its bad enough you can get banned for using follower and viewer bot services but these bots never get banned for being A BOT.

  16. My suggestion: add a follower bot etc to our channel. have a quick action button in the publisher panel where, when fired, publishers can submit reports with a single click. Press this button from quick actions when the broadcaster is exposed to fake follower bots. With a single click, the twitch team will be notified. Twitch should delete those bots as soon as possible. No one should have any trouble with this. Because most people don't know what to do about it! I think it would be a very practical and beautiful solution.

  17. I recently was follow botted again. A pretty recent update to twitch security added the option of only allowing verified accounts to type in chat. I believe we need an option that goes a step further to prevent follow bots entirely. The option is simple. Please give the streamer the option of requiring a verified phone number to follow their stream. That would remove any chance of someone follow botting because they will not have hundreds of verified accounts. And if they did they could be easily identified and dealt with.

  18. Some streamers have been using bots for years. Bots are sitting in the viewer list with female nicknames and avatars. Those who come to their channel end up on the restream of the owner of the bot network. These streams run around the clock and their owners use hundreds of bots, automatikly sending them to EVERY stream.Twitch does nothing. For example, such a network of bots (date is time of report):

  19. We've all noticed the follow bot/hate raid stuff lately and quite frankly this is getting tiresome. I have some simple ideas that'll help with these issues that should keep the community safer than they already are.

    1. Allow users to disable the ability for follows to happen on their channel without the following account already being verified/enabling 2FA, or even exist for a set amount of time, a time chosen by the user. Could be 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.

    2. Give users the option to disable hosts and raids from any users that that haven't verified their account/have enabled…

  20. Could you have the ability to list the bots (Streamer approved bot list) that are allowed to be in that streamer's channel and then for all other bot account to be auto ban the moment they start watching.

As a mod I have been using https://twitchinsights.net/bots to check if accounts are bots and then banning any that show up as bots before they talk in chat. The Hoss bot is just creating so many account it disrupting many streams now.

Also could you have another setting to alow streams to chose to have any account that is watching more than…
