IP Ban from channel
IP Ban makes it possible to permanently ban a user with the same IP Address, thus not allowing them to crate other account to try and troll/spam, etc.
We apply IP bans in Chat based on users' Moderation actions in certain cases. We don't currently plan to publicize the logic we use because we think it would make it easier for bad actors to bypass the restriction.

There has been a large increase in bot accounts as of late. We have a ban option and a timeout option as streamers and moderators. It would be nice if there was also a /banip (username) to ban from a specific streamer's chat all users from the same IP address to combat botting within a specific streamer's chat. Users from that IP would still be able to go to other streamers, but would keep them from overwhelming the streamer who they are botting against.

I consider it because I'm being stalked by someone who made multiple twitch accounts to harass me and I had them banned from the chat and reported them but they still do it anyway for the sake of trouble. before starting a private chat you have to make sure that your device is connected to the internet or not for the wifi service I mostly use Linksys router if you want to know about Linksys router take help from https://www.linksysroutersupportnumber.com/

I'm happy this was never implemented. This can be very easy to abuse - very quickly too. Some users will be able to maliciously use VPN to ban people they don't like.
What if the user had a VPN for the streamer's IP address? Can the streamer ban himself from viewing his own stream?
What if a user finds out a mods IP address, and gets them banned by adding their IP address to the VPN?
It can be abused - and when something has no solution, it is best left alone.

Then just make it so you can toggle if you want only people with verified accounts to be able to watch.

Implement IRC kick command.... problem solved. SIMPLE!
1) No IP ban required. (IP banning hurts innocents & the bad ppl just spoof or proxy, pointless)
2) Zero impact on system load... Casters/Mods can simply !kick and then !ban suspect accounts/bots and rekick when/if they ever rejoin your chat.
The process could even be scripted by the channels own bot to auto kick offending/unwanted accounts who persistently make rejoin attempts.
3) No torrents flooding twitch support. (As the caster/mods are in control and working with usernames not IP addresses only the intended parties will be dealt with. No innocents affected - errors and ommision accepted.

I feel like this feature would most likely get abused and people would just ban evade even more with a proxy/VPN.

IT would be very Beneficial to streamers if twitch would allow /ipBan and NOT just /ban to some Twitch viewers, some Team members I know and myself have gotten death threats, weird and creepy msgs and users making new accounts day after day for harrassment.
/ipBan would allow a streamer to perma ip ban them from your twitch channel/room on twitch and wouldnt effect them elsewhere, and they couldn't even view your channel and if they make a new account they still can't view it.
It be nice if you're a Team Leader of a Twitch Team as well. and any IP bans you do prevent those banned ip users from viewing your twitch teams page as well to prevent harassment to team members.

My ex comes into my stream every single time and is extremely abusive and makes threats towards myself, my co-streamers (usually my boyfriend) and harasses my viewers via whispers every time he gets banned. He makes a new account and comes back again each time he gets banned. He has been reported on numerous occasions by different people. Yesterday he posted my home address in my stream chat and was making vile threats of violence towards my other's half's little girl in my stream.
Let's get to my main point though, which is the fact that he uses a VPN so that his IP address can't be traced. He has openly admitted this as well. So basically, IP bans are ineffective for those who use a VPN. That's why a lot of people use them.
FYI the person who I am talking about is Psychosocialite on Twitch (his main account) and he is a VERY nasty piece of work and likes to think himself untouchable.

I know that this is probably a dumb question, but is there a way to IP ban someone that is in your chat room. Recently I've been having a bit of a problem with a "viewer" of mine coming onto my stream chat and saying some very inappropriate things that I and I'm sure others wouldn't want to see in their stream chat. I timed him out the first time, the second time I banned him, and he goes off and makes another account so he can proceed with the unwanted content. I then ban that account and rinse and repeat. So I was wondering if there was a way to IP ban and how.
