Intentional misuse of tags ie. Vtuber tag on non-Vtuber
There has been a recent rise in streamers misusing the tag system, most noticeably with non-Vtubers using the Vtuber tag. This makes discoverability more difficult for both streamers who are actually Vtubers, and viewers trying to use the tag system to find Vtubers. Even prominent streamers are misusing tags, so this behavior has been spreading. I'd like to ask Twitch staff to please enforce action on the misuse of tags to help the streamers and viewers who are using the tag system as intended. Banning streamers from using specific tags they have been caught and verified to be abusing them might be a helpful solution to consider.
Hi, thanks for flagging this and sharing your suggestion.
We share and understand your concerns about how the intentional, repeated misuse of tags can undermine the purpose of the tags product itself. Tags are an important discoverability feature for communities, and a powerful way for all Creators—but especially those that are underrepresented—to express their personal identity and creative vision for their content.
We also do not feel Twitch should be the judge of Creators’ personal or creative identity, so we typically only enforce against the misuse of tags when it is associated with other behavior that violates our Community Guidelines such as hateful conduct or harassment.
That said, as the VTuber community’s experience demonstrates, there are limitations to this approach and we are actively investigating additional steps we can take to protect and improve the integrity of the tags feature at scale, without infringing on good faith Creators’ personal choice to express themselves and define their content.
Our goal is to have more to share with you about the tags feature later this year.

I'll be honest wit'ch'y'all, I completely forgot I even wrote this up...what? Back in April? I'm glad y'all're commentin' and sharin.' Twitch needs to understand that the tags system they created is being abused, and not just by some trolls; but by streamers with thousands or more viewers. Streamers who ruin the experience for other streamers that are using the tag system [or lack there-of now] properly, and people who want to discover streamers from those tags, who actually make content related to those tags.

Twitch literally said "who are we to say an irl human isn't a vtuber if that's what they identify as?"
This isn't about gender identity, Twitch.
This is literally irl humans on camera calling themselves VTubers... That's not... What VTubers are. This shouldn't even be a discussion are you all okay??? -

So you're going to have a "VTuber Takeover" event, and then allow non-VTubers to take over the VTuber tag... Does Twitch need to look up the definition of irony or laziness?

Good to see that on twitches own Vtuber Takeover event, the second top streamer in the Vtuber catagory is still able to abuse the Vtuber tag. Good Job.

Can we repost this same concern as a re-visiting? Since Twitch changed their tag system, maybe they'll have something new to say (doubtful, but possible)

Even after the "rework" twitch made on tags, the vtuber tag is widely abused. Thanks for nothing Twitch.

This could easily be the platform for Vtubers, it’s simple, protect the tag from being used by streamers who belong on **** sites. By allowing them to use it you are associating Vtubers with **** streamers. This hurts your platform, and limits Vtubers success. I don’t care if a performer does lewd streams, I care about what I can trust letting my kid see, and my friends successes

It is frustrating they don't want to stop the misuse of tags unless there is a violation to tos. BUT WAIT, when people are doing suggestive things for tips like squatting basically naked because their "bathing suit" covers nothing" in a pool in their bedroom, its fine to abuse tags and tos.
Other people are punished for linking Patreon in their tittle and told they are trading sexual favors but some people are doing that on stream and nothing is done.

Let's do the math here 8000 reports on the account that are being missed used the tag or do just sit throwing our views/opinions not be seen on this post. Stick together and the voices of the people will be heard.

So what you're telling us then, is despite your staff running a vtuber agency, y'all don't know what a vtuber is and don't care that irl streamers are using the tag to show their literal *****. Yet I, as an actual vtuber, can't have a swimsuit that covers everything because that counts as nudity? But someone having literal actual irl sex on stream gets a 7 day ban and "lol don't do it again...unless you can earn us money with it"

Twitch had a select list of tags to make the discoverity better, people complained that the approved list was short and should include more tags, Twitch took a year and half to make a near-perfect list of tags. People still complained, because some jackasses misused the tags, while some wanted to write their own tags. Twitch removed entirely the approved list of tags, and now EVERYONE can misuse tags and ruin the discovery.

You might not care, but you're not us twitch, you're opinions don't represent the victims or the viewers, you are the government to this kingdom, we care and, by proxy we are right, because WE ARE THE CUSTOMER!

I don't really expect anything anymore from a platform that bans ONLY FOR 7 DAYS someone having sex on a livestream.
That's sad. -

So TL;DR as long as the Streamer in question of the Violation makes enough Networth, you dont give a flying **** about it.

Your official talking head claims that you care about the abuse of the tag system. I'm sure you care about this issue as much as you care about violations of your loosely defined and randomly enforced "Terms of Service"--in other words, as long as people are stupid enough to stream on your site and money comes into your pockets, you don't give a flying rat's tush about ToS enforcement or transparency. I've seen way too many Vtubers complain about being unfairly suspended without warning, being refused to have a clear explanation of what ToS they supposedly violated, and even non-virtual streamers getting away with flagrant violations of ToS and nothing being done about it. One of these days, someone is going to start a class action discrimination suit against Twitch for all of this nonfeasance/malfeasance if something isn't done to correct the problem once and for all!

What's the point of feedback if the only response after 8k+ votes is "we aren't gonna do ****".

Tags are still being misused, and nothing is being done about it. It's hurting actual VTubers. This is happening on YouTube too...honestly, we all need a fresh new platform for streaming, because it seems neither Twitch nor YouTube want to actually help their content creators

@Dowski
Tags are still being misused. Nothing has been done to help stem the tide of people mislabeling their streams. Theres also been a lot of abuse of the TOS and you guys dont seem to be interested in fixing it properly, interested only in letting your "Advanced AI" (AKA horrible) take over cases. People are also stealing other streamers assets, and yet you still do nothing to people who are abusing your system.
Do better twitch.
