Please implement this, Twitch. It would really help protect creators, and it would be up to creators to decide if they want to risk the potential reduced engagement so it wouldn't hurt the platform.

This is such an obvious and important improvement, it's mind-boggling we don't already have it. Twitch, you claim to care about supporting your POC and LGBTQIA creators, prove it by giving us the tools we need to protect our spaces.

After dealing with a literal child ban evading their way in mature audiences streams TEN times in the last month. THIS IS NEEDED. if a child can ban evade a dangerous individual also easily can.

This would be a great tool for streamers to avoid harassment from those dodging bans and spamming new accounts.

I would really hope one of the platforms top priorities is keeping the streamer safe, and considering every twitch partner and affiliate is required to have 2fa turned on it really makes sense and would definitely detours a lot of bad actors from making hundreds of accounts within minutes to engage in chats again.

I think this is a good idea, but could be counter-productive... Almost no one has 2FA activated.

However, I believe that a "2FA Only" chat, like the "Sub Only" chat would be a great feature for some streamers. AND It would help adoption of this feature.

I love the intent here! Feeling safe is SO IMPORTANT! I'm not sure 2FA goes far enough to empower creators (and maintain viewer user experience) with just that as the only option. Might prevent some legit viewers in kind of a ****** biased way, what percent of non-privileged folks have SMS available (teenagers and younger particularly)? And, sadly, maybe people who would harass could merely find online burner-sms workarounds?

I think there's potential for Twitch to do even better to address these issues. YES, add this 2FA suggestion, it's a no brainer! And do better! Give creators options for managing their community... maybe some sort of Karma/Review/Rating of members per community... maybe networking this on the creator side. So creators linked with other creators build communities of safety together. Bots would have no/low score and couldn't do anything, obviously harassment wouldn't be tolerated across a wide network of "creators' community of trusted viewers"... IDK, but I've spent 2mins on this... put some effort into it Twitch. /endrant :D :D

Id to love to see a 2fa being used more globally on the site- especially as a chat filter, requiring users to type in chat.

Having "users must be logged in to watch streams" would also be a good idea as twitch already has sub streams, so adding more mechanics to this is good

How about if a channel has this feature enabled anyone that doesn't have 2FA enabled just gets an endless stream of ads when they click on the channel? That's extra security and extra ad revenue for you, Twitch.

Requiring 2FA to be able to not only count as a view, but to chat, would eliminate the majority, if not entirely all malicious view/chat botting on Twitch. This is something Twitch should take priority on as well as proper DMCA documentation and appeal processes.

Bot accounts have flooded Twitch and are all over the place now. One bot can be seen in as many as 50,000+ streams at one time. This is something blocking streamers that would not only benefit from being Partner, but would greatly benefit Twitch as a whole by having a new Partner, are being blocked out of having the opportunity entirely by these bot accounts harassing Twitch and these streamers.

When you bolster the user base with good required security practices, not only are more accounts more secure (stopping the mass amounts of account breaches as per the past with the millions and millions of accounts having their account details stolen), this also allows for easier moderation on the platform in the long term future with moderators not having to question every user that enters chat wondering if they are a bot.

This is something that would greatly benefit the platform. Bringing every user back into TOS who are unintentionally breaking it by having bots enter their streams (not by their request), and reduce the number of users alternate accounts that sometimes can also bolster viewer numbers (also not always by the streamers request).

If we can get this pushed forward and implemented, I feel Twitch would be a much safer and positive platform to be apart of.
