Kick unwanted users/bots from Channel COMPLETELY!
We are now dealing with a new threat of bot accounts. These accounts sit lurking in channel, possibly logging info of either streamers or chatters. They may be using this info for giveaway sniping, or possible future bot attacks, including viewer bots, follower bots, and even spam bots. They sit there and do nothing, they follow us to other streams we host/raid. We ban them, not like they ever say anything, but to prevent them from spreading, we need a way to KICK THEM OFF THE CHANNEL.
Recently had a run in with "Opentwitchbot" whom acknowledges that they are running a bot in other's channels, but never requested permission to do so, instead, they want us to run THEIR command in our channels to make them leave, which isn't possible on our bots, because our bots are not design for that command, nor is it a Twitch command. I don't know what their command is doing, and I certainly don't trust it. When confronting them on the fact that their bot is breaking ToS, they reported me for reporting them. I requested and stated to them several times, their bot is not welcomed in my channel, and they refused to remove themselves until the end of my stream, waiting for me to host someone and latch on to them, thus spreading.
We've all been noticing another set of bots possibly working together, Faegwent ThisIsMyDevAccount and chatdb, they never speak, but they have hundreds if not thousands of followers, they never broadcast, etc etc, what are they doing sitting in our chat? sending info to these followers? that's against ToS. We the broadcasters need an option to kick them from the page, doesn't have to be permanent, they might have an option to hop back on, but I think we should have some sort of captcha security so they can PROVE they are human, and not a bot when rejoining the page!
Banning doesn't do enough if they can still read the chat and gather the info. Reporting seems to do nothing for the past 2 months of reporting them, from MULTIPLE witnesses/reporters. It's about time we have some control over the unwelcome bot accounts.
Help us help you lessen the load!
A Hard Working Broadcaster, just trying to stop the spread of unwanted guests.
Hi, I know that this is a very late response, but we’re hoping to find time to address this issue later this year. There are a few steps we’ll have to take to solve this problem in a way that will work for all streamers, but we understand the severity of the issue.
Here are some BOTS that show up in my chat and I want to remove them but how. Users
Well "Later this year" doesn't sound like it's a priority and I'm fed up of seeing those creeps collecting my chat nonstop.
does anyone know anything about vivbot?
it wont leave my channel ever, always shows up 10 mins into my stream. everytime!!
somebody said it could be a webhook.i agree with all this. we need a way to get rid of these bots. i dont think anyone else even gets vivbot on theyre channel. im desperate. i dont want to start over omgoodness lol. ive been reporting too, and nothing, does twitch read my messages? lol....
I am really surprised by the lack of documentation or developments to be found anywhere on the net. It certainly does give the feeling like its intentionally being overlooked.
some of he bots leave if u know how.
also check out my channel plz???
im new at streaming and tbh Commanderroot is the worst i literally have like 5 bots in my channel even when im not streaming(not including nightbot moobot streamlabs or streamelements
Any news? I just started streaming but had noticed these weird bots in other channels before. Really not a fan of them at all, they're creepy.
Here’s some streamers that are doing this as well. I tried messaging them but they said no and stayed.
100000% agreed. Worst of all is Commanderroot.
i have the same problem... please put an option to remove viewers.. ban ip.. or delete completely this bots from my channel.
I'm glad this is finally under review, it's been bothering me. I'm watching for updates.
It's well known at this point that twitch not only ignores this, but supports these users and their "accounts". This suggestion has fallen on deaf ears. It awful, but I grit my teeth about this and continue on.
Since twitch chat is actually a strange form of an IRC chat, you might guess that it should be able to connect to a chat via standard IRC clients. This is actually possible and documented. The documentation actually does not include any KICK command, which should be an essential tool to remove bad people from your stream. You should be able to remove unwanted bots and also unwanted people like stream snipers. When using the BAN function in twitch, it actúally does nothing more than MUTE. Actually no user was ever banned on twitch, because banning someone means to remove him from your property.

So many more. I've banned em. Can even see now how many times I've tried timing them out. Its like nothing can be done. Even for the hell of it I created an Account that has 0 attached social media, two streams in, the only people in the stream are Bots that you cant get rid of. It really makes yah wanna just stop. Please take care of this ASAP.
Twitch owns the bots... just sayin.

Big data - I expect the chat logs they collect are being sold. Likely for big $.
I have asked Twitch a few times to give me an option to remove them, never heard anything from twitch, and I do not understand why. It feels like you don't own your own channel when you have 1 viewer and 8 bots in chat. I have tried everything to remove them, I find the entire experience making me not want to stream.
Please BAN bots on my channel i have only 1 bot hosted on my VPS i dont need more trash bots

I don't have an issue with the bots getting info from my chat or anything, I just hate not being able to see which users are actual users, and which are just bots.
