Allow Nudity
Since the creation of twitch creative last year, there's been a great community growing. Twitch has made a new and exciting platform for artists to connect with their audience that hasn't really existed before. It allows for such a personal connection between the art, artist, and viewer. When I see artwork from an artist that I watch regularly, not only do I see their beautiful creation, I remember special moments when they completed a section of their work.
On October 28th, 2015, when Twitch creative was announced on the Twitch blog they wrote, ”We expect to learn much about what is, and is not, appropriate for Twitch as the community grows.”
After a year of silence, I hope that the community can get some answers and solutions to this important issue.
For clarity here are the terms of service regarding nudity.
For Twitch gaming:
“Nudity can't be a core focus or feature of the game in question, and modded nudity is disallowed in its entirety. Occurrences of in-game nudity are permitted, so long as you do not make them a primary focus of your broadcast and only spend as much time as needed in the area to progress the game's story.”
For Twitch Creative:
“We are working on ways to ensure that artists can produce the work that they want, while also fostering a safe space for the community as a whole. We ask that you refrain from creating or using depictions of nudity or extreme violence until those features are implemented.”
For gaming, nudity can't be the primary focus. For creative, nudity can't be shown at all.
These rules imposed upon the creative community, cripple creators and the viewers knowledge from such a fundamental core of drawing, the human anatomy. Artists want to share their creative process, including their skills as they improve. How can they improve when the necessary knowledge of human anatomy is forbidden?
When game designers make a choice to have nudity in their games, the majority of the time it's for sexualized purposes.
However what the creative community wants is to at least have nudity as an educational tool to build upon our skills as artists to further our understanding of anatomy.
Today you can view nudity in games, however if there's a drawing thats somewhat suggestive it's a bannable offense.
Just as flowers, sunsets, and mountains are useful tools in the artist’s toolkit, the unadorned human body can be an essential tool to express the pure emotion of what the artist is trying to convey. Artists use nudity as a tool to focus attention on the human form, and not irrelevant aspects like how their shirts are buttoned, how clothing is being draped, or whether they are wearing the most stylish kind of hat. And if the point of art is to primarily express ideas about the nature of humanity and our role in the world, then it would be natural to expect the nude body would be among the most powerful of those expressive tools.
Artists deserve the same level of freedom as gamers. To put a lid on our talent diminishes the range of appreciation for the human condition and causes us to constantly edit our creativity.
I want the artwork I experience to be created with the best training, the most creative ideas, and the widest freedom to use all those things to make the most excellent works that best efforts can achieve. To do any less would make the world a worse place to live.
You allow gamers to play their games. Allow artists to create their masterpieces.

Just create a “Nudity Content” tag and restrict non-logged in users and accounts without verified age from viewing the category.
Boom. There’s your solution. Instead of banning people, just let them appropriately tag the content they make. Period.

"It shouldn't be allowed as long as KIDS can easily access 18+ content without an ID check or further proof of being over 18."
Kids can easily access Twitch pages without ID check. The warning about mature content is for nothing.
If, then I would ask for ID cards, address at registration for everyone! Then, if somebody is younger than 18, should be not able to see those pages ment for mature people. Nothing...no chat, nothing.
And this way, harassment, bullying, etc. would be very easy to control. Nobody want to see police at the front door. Or?
And hot tub. Hot tub streams are soft port. It is all about sexuality. Has nothing to do with bathing or chat. Stretching? Yoga? It is only **** and ***. There are better platform for this **** than Twitch. But it is a good money for Twitch...so... why not let them drop they dress and then everybody could fap on Twitch content also.

No, please not! It's already annoying enough with all those bath tub streams...
Twitch is not a **** platform and it attracts a lot of kids. You'd probably say "Add age restrictions to those streams" but that's an invalid argument because let's be honest: How many kids care about age restrictions in the inernet?Nudity on Twitch has no advantages and should never be allowed!!!

This is the only place I could find to add my input.
#TheHotTubMeta
#CamGirlLite
In the past 6 months we have seen a website come up that had 'all' of the girls that are presently doing the 'hot tub meta'. The name of this website was called Bunnyhop.tv. When observing this site, it had well over 24 or more female streamers from twitch alone, that nearly every single one of them having an account to onlyfans.com. Just think about that for a moment. When people seen these girls on the site, they would go and warn the girls that this was happening. Low and behold though nearly 75% of these girls were ok with it because they new about it.
These girls are millionaires, they know what they are doing they are not stupid. Don't assume they are innocent.
Nearly all of these girls that are doing this hot tub meta, have an account to onlyfans or patreon that provides content that can be purchases with full nudity and even some with videos that can be sent directly to them.
I know this for a fact as I have tested this myself and am witness to this very thing.
It's not about them being in the confines of rules at this time, it's that they are using twitch to promote *********** for financial gains.
It should be a rule of thumb, that absolutely no streamer, should have any link on their pages, that leads to pornographic sales.
It is not to control what they do outside of twitch, but to control what they have linked with twitch in the promotion of such materials.
Giving an option to viewers to 'ignore or block' content is not enough. That is the same thing as ignoring the problem.
If you are going to allow this content then you need to rule on it and cut the wings off these naughty angels that are using twitch to promote *********** and direction to their pornographic sales. Twitch staff is more than welcome to message me directly or send me an email in regards to this topic and we can certainly go into more detail and discussion. Twitch and ***** do not belong together. Not even in lite version. Keep the family platform safe.

Nudity should only be allowed for certain types of content, for example in video games and artwork.
However, IRL nudity isn't something I want to see on Twitch as a creator and a viewer. If people want nudity, they'll go to a **** site. Twitch is not a **** site!

As long as there are child restrictions - maybe; but my 11 year old can easily click "OK" to show content. So do I need to monitor him 100% of the time? No. Twitch should be a 100% safe place for all ages - otherwise go to another platform and watch **** or nudity. What is the gain by allowing it here? I understand the art perspective; but most people on here are using nudity/partial nudity/extremely suggestive things in their streams - and it is doesn't belong on Twitch. There is good clean dirty fun on here, I enjoy it. But I do not hang out in rooms where girls are hanging over the camera, their breasts practically out of their shirt.
Getting bits and subs.. for what? It won't work - It will ruin this place..
Remember Amazon bought this platform and I doubt Jeff wants it to become another myfreecams website. Look it up - it already exists. Twitch does not need to become myfreecams. /endrant <3 much love to all -

Usually if you want draw or build something, there is good chance for some time, nude parts can visible. Especially 3D modelling, you must sometimes zoom in for good detailwork, but yeah, some avatars starts naked and then slowly covered with clothes.
Of course we dont play with nude parts, its part of building process. Hope ToS can makes it clear and allow the artwork with drawings and 3D work.

Censorship is wrong, full stop.
Unfortunately, the rules as posted above ('nudity can't be the main focus') aren't even being followed by Twitch, who still regularly ban gaming channels over nip slips. So this petition should go further: Twitch staff should be prevented from injecting their puritanical 12th Century beliefs into their work. No more bans or punishment for artists OR gamers on dubious, moralistic grounds such as these.

I think nudity should be permissible for art streams, but exclusively for 18+, no body painting, and no *** acts/***********. I say this because it's the only way that I can see nudity (in an art perspective) being used responsibly without devolving into Chaturbate Lite.

No.
The fact that just chatting is becoming softcore **** as it is, it's being abused to milk users out of cash or to skyrocket their platform into becoming a partner.
I know "*** sells" and all... but it shouldn't. Not on Twitch.

YouTube don't age verify other than asking your age do they? The mature filter should take care of this as it does for ****** gaming content.
-
MrNY2Cali commented
The only way this becomes a viable option is if can do actual age verification checks. This is why they don't allow any nudity now, they tolerate some nudity in games because the "streamer" can't predict what might be in a game and Twitch isn't going to screen every portion of every game for that type of content.
So they require a streamer to put a Mature flag but this flag isn't really enforceable and is only there to cover state, fedral and international law liability.

I agree that the context of the nudity need to be taken into account. However using, "Creative outlet," or, "It's art," would be quickly abused by people. This is the problem I see.
I do not disagree. I do not view a body, in of itself, as a ****** object. The behavior is the more important aspect of nudity being ****** or just a nude person.
In fact I am really ****** off that the topless rule ONLY APPLIES TO WOMEN. As if men lack nipples. As if topless men are never sexualized. As if no woman has a fetish for a "half naked" (as my mother always referred to it) guy.
I think the context of questionable streams needs to be viewed by non-prude real human beings. That, however, costs them more money then they probably want to waste when it is easier to go, "Newp, just ban anything that people say has the color 'bright orange' because it hurts x groups feelings!"

There was a brief mention in a tweet back in March that Twitch had plans to implement an update to allow nude figure drawing. With the years of waiting along with the mention earlier this year, would it be possible to finally get a tangible update on what these plans are for the Creative section of the Twitch community?
Much love <3
