How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. If someone is banned from a streamer's chat, they should also see a notice on the stream window informing them that they're not permitted to see the broadcast along with the active "banned from chat" notification they see in that streamer's chat.

It would make it easier to see for unwanted viewers to be informed that they're currently unwelcomed to that streamer's community.

In addition for the mod/streamer side of the channel, that person's username is completely hidden from the user list of that channel's chat for everyone except the mods and streamer of the channel or that person's username…

  2. "Twitch Streamers Crisis Center": I think that you should create an online "Crisis Center" of sorts to support Twitch streamers who may be experiencing substance abuse issues or homelessness. You could include within that "Center" a "Housing Support" listing advertisements for available housing or roommates wanted. "Housing Support" could also include a roommate pairing service. It could also include a section for supportive chat which would provide both group therapy chat and chat aimed at helping streamers to make friends (and find a "family" of sorts online). You could include an "Opportunities Outside Twitch" section which would help streamers who…

  3. So I came to this conclusion when I saw the recent event that has taken place in a streamer stream that was called "Nadia" she exposed a user first and last name throughout the stream and even if she was banned for that. Not questioning the sentence whatsoever I think that this type of information should absolutely not be shown to any user of this platform and that, even to the person we donated to. Because even if twitch do explain and incite people to take legal action if doxing happens to them, i think that is not enough because…

  5. Require verification to follow a channel.

Over the past couple years on twitch a person, or group of people have been DOXing me constantly using their usernames to do it. I think the best way to deal with this is use the email and phone verification and allow streamers the ability to have verification as a requirement for following. I would specifically go with phone number myself.

This has again been going on for years and twitch has been no help when reaching out to them to stop this from happening.

  6. We should be able to add single character wildcards for special characters in other languages alphabets such as Cyrillic and Hebrew. Currently when setting a filter for *ю* we get "That term is too short and will not be enforced." This would make moderating easier for strictly English based streams where viewers ignore the stream language tags, spoken language and language written in chat, etc.

  7. Chatters that are currently live on Twitch should have a badge next to their name or some type of notification for the streamer. I have seen multiple streamers browse Twitch while they are live and harass other streamers. Being able to see that a chatter is live when they pop in and say "hi" would be a good warning for the streamer.

  8. I want to suggest that there should be an alternative option to blocking users. I feel it should be with the Report button on the About tab. I am aware that there are other ways to block users, I just feel we should also be able to do it on user profiles.

And if they somehow have you blocked already to where you cant block them on their profile, then proceeding to typing /block [username] in your chat would be the next step.

I hope this idea is considered, I'm sure its been considered before but really there are so…

  9. This should be a simple feature to add, if I blocked a user, make it so that user will not see my channel listed on the directory.

You already have it so a banned user will not see chat, expand this to also cover the directories, so they can't see your channel even being listed on that user account.

  11. Hello Twitch staff, I suggest you moderate some of the categories like:
    https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Lineage%202

In this category, half of the channels are view-botted server promotions which makes no sense. The channels get views by view-botting and embing their channels to their main webpages. Some of the channels stay on top of the list for 24/7. I don't know if other categories have the same issue, but at least this Lineage2 category is full of promoters. If there would be a function specifically to report the Promoted-view botted channel, this would help to make the platform more cleaner.

    Hello there,

I would like to let you know that you can report channels in the manner you have described. Simply click on the three-dot icon and select the report option. You will be prompted through some reasons. To report bots, you can select Live Stream and then under "Why are you submitting this report?", you can select "Search" and type in "Bots" and follow the rest of the required input instructions. Hope this helps.

  12. I would like you to ban the name Karen when used as a term of abuse and harassment. Knowing people named Karen, who are very sweet people, it upsets me to see others use their name is such ways. I feel the use of any name as a term for bullying is wrong, especially considering my own experiences with bullying due to my name.

  13. Create a department of referents to help women streamers defend themselves against harassment campaigns. To bring them a real help and support tool so that they can more easily file a complaint in their regions and to offer administrative models according to the countries.

  14. Adopting industry-standard child broadcasting PREVENTION measures
to deter preteens from mobile streaming on Twitch (& predators targeting them):

    ✩ In short:
    • Implement a 25-50 follower requirement for mobile broadcasting.
    • Newcomer mobile-only adults can bypass this through ID-verification.
    • Uniquely on Twitch (among other major livestreaming services),
underage users can presently pick up their phone, create an account and go live-streaming without restrictions – all in 2 minutes.

    ✩ In detail:

    • 1. CONTEXT:
September 2022, Bloomberg report illustrates how Amazon's Twitch, uniquely so in contrast with competing broadcasting platforms,
leads the video-service industry in widescale child-livestreaming and consequent…

  16. block whole channels! i blocked a streamer that sucks as a person and i keep getting raided into their channel anyways - if you guys won't delete his stream for the multiple reports of bullying from multiple users, pleasssse at LEAST make an option to stop me from winding up on his channel. i know my view isn't counted on a raid, but i don't want it to even look like i might be watching

  17. It's great that you have a "mature content" label as an option, but any kid can still simply click through that, they don't even need an account. Many creators that I watch simply don't want kids in their streams for various reasons.

Make it so that creators can also require a login for the video stream of their channel to show up. Maybe when you click into the full stream it gives you an alert that you need to login.

  18. I'm here today to talk about an idea. It would help a lot of the twitch community that plays mainly FPS games. As we all know twitch streamers are always receiving stream snipe, unfortunately, so I was thinking today that it should exist a new command to help our streamers, it would be used to black out the screen of a certain viewer (That will be stream snipping or not) including the audio and video of course.

  20. Those who make a purchase (e.g. bits, subscriptions, etc.) should be treated as phone-verified. I only use a VoIP phone number, so I can't phone verify. But I do have an Amazon Prime subscription, so I can get 1 free Twitch subscription every month. My payment information is on file, so if I end up being a creepy stalker guy, you can easily trace me through the credit card, right? That should be good enough to stave off trolls. Let me be treated as Stage 2 Verified (stage 1 only requires an email address) if I either have my payment…
