Bad Raid Requirements
I just noticed the recent changes to people setting raids after a stream how the requirement is now pushed to minimum of 5 viewers and over. I have to say this in REALLY bad, because this hurts smaller streamers who might not have that many viewers watching their channel, only to see their own raids turn into hosts instead. This essentially cripples streamers ability to be noticed when they raid someone after finishing a stream, it was already bad enough when you crippled it so that people can't raid/host channels from 1 viewer, which is fine I guess, but to change the requirement to 5 viewers is bad overall.
I want to recognise the people who raid into me even if their viewership isn't that big, I don't want to see someone just show up as a host to my streams when they set a raid. it just makes their raids seem less significant. This is something that needs to be reverted to how it was before.
I keep seeing stupid changes like these being made on Twitch that make no sense at all without any careful consideration of what it ends up doing to streamers as a result. Case in point like how you were gonna force mid-roll ads on streams, and immediately people pointed out how bad that is.
Hey guys! We really appreciate the feedback that has been brought forth in this thread and just wanted to update you a little bit on what is going on.
This change was originally made to guard against raid bot attacks. While smaller raids are currently viewable in activity feed in the dashboard, we are working on a solution that treats raids equally while guarding against abuse tactics.
I can honestly see this having a damaging impact on a streamers mental health. There are thousands of steamers in the world that struggle to get the views they want and the one chance another streamer gets of making that persons day better gets shattered by a raid limit. It’s not needed and shows a true ignorance for the streamer community
Please allow all your affiliates' voices to be heard. This hurts streamers trying to grow and network. I love having *anyone* raid or host me, I don't care what the count is when they do so. Even if it's just for one viewer I want to recognize those who take the time out of their day to help me out and help them out in the process.
https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/924712-new-creator-dashboard/suggestions/41549866-add-a-random-small-streamer-suggestion-to-the-ra Maybe vote for my idea too, as this might be a more constructive solution. There would be some RNG involved, of course, but it would at least give smaller streamers a chance at getting discovered, which is better than what we have right now.
Especially considering the threshold for affiliate is 3 average viewers it feels that below 5 is holding back those trying to grow and share their community. Please change this back.
This change is super demoralising and insulting. Change it back.
Change it back
I appreciate ALL forms of support I get to my channel, including when another streamer hosts or raids me (even if it's just them and one other viewer as a party of 2). I want to acknowledge them and thank them for choosing to raid me, but recently they've been slipping under the radar. It doesn't even show up in Streamlabs OBS - I have to look at Dashboard (which I rarely do when I'm live, and chances are they've probably left by then). Please change it back so I can acknowledge others for supporting my channel, no matter how small the support is
Any one that raids me u want to say thank you to what ever the size of the raid .
Fix it thanks.
I absolutely cannot fathom why this decision was made.
Allow streamers to set a threshold for how many viewers are required to trigger host/raid alerts. Don't just shaft 90% of the streamers on your platform.
As we work hard at growing as streamers, raiding is an important part of networking and supporting one another. To disregard a raid, simply because it's only a few viewers, slows down the ability to grow the twitch streaming community. I can't see any advantage to dismissing small raids.
As a streamer finding it difficult to build an audience, it would be very helpful to be recognised for any size raid rather than it being capped at a minimum.
As a small streamer this has already hindered myself and other streamers. This has to be reverted. It’s almost as if Twitch are actively trying to hinder us.
This is one of those where "Don't fix what isn't broken". Previously it was fine. It allowed smaller streamers to be noticed. I have a few good friends that streams regularly and regularly get small number of viewers. This is going to hurt them, and I don't like it. Please reconsider this.
What does it matter when most people use on-screen alerts which can be customised based on the count!!! I dont think I've ever seen a streamer complain about this and if I do I would not watch them. Showing more people my stream matters even if it's just to 1 new person. I feel so honoured every time I get a raid.
this change is stupid. just leave things alone. you guys don't have anything better to do at twitch?
no streamer should ever feel as if "theyre not enough" or "their community doesnt matter" or them giving the LARGEST HONOR of passing their treasured community to an entirley different person is "worthless" because its "not good/big enough"
any person, no matter how small should be given the honor of an alert no matter how small the community.... ANY COMMUNITY IS A COMMUNITY WORTHY OF BEING RECOGNIZED.........
Extremely unfair towards smaller streamers. Awful feature
It's unfair for us smol streamers trying to support our friends in the community. Please change it back to how it was.
