Multi language tag on stream dashboard (more than 2 or 3 if possible)
Many people in the world i believe mostly at least bilingual, or even rarely some people speak Trilingual and Multilingual, so in the dashboard let us for streamers to choose what language are we broadcasting. For example "English" and "Chinese or "Korean" and "English" or even rarely maybe? "English" + "Korean" + "German"
Hey there!
Though we have not yet added support for multiple language tags, we have added more than 350 new options that we think may help out with this particular ask.
For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/. Thank you for your feedback and ideas!
We will leave this topic open for now for further discussion around whether this meets the needs of the request.

@ElleRows this makes no sense! If your mother language is Zulu but you speak also Croatian, and wanna find streams on that two languages, you may find if you search for bilingual channels, but for sure you have to scroll a lot to find a Zulu channel :) But if there is a channel with lets say with Maori and Zulu, and you search for Zulu language, then you will find that channel.
So it makes sense to have language specific tags options UNLIMITED, non restricted.
English is NOT the only language!
And country tags were I think the worst solution...but it is discussed already here.
2 years gone...I think it is not that important for Twitch to realize this for us. However 1000+ votes. We just waste our times here :)

Still no update to this? I don't really understand the issue of not letting us add other languages in tags or a drop down menu in our settings that we can highlight the languages we can speak & understand.
This really shouldn't be a complicated problem.

A lot of us are not native english speakers. Using our native language in our presets bounds us to a few countries we can invite to join our channel if they wish to (because of limited tags). Why not having language tags instead (or in addition to countries)? Why would we restrain communication options on such an interactive platform ?
OR, you could allow several languages in the "streaming language" menu.
Thanks

I do bilingual streams (talking spanish and english from time to time). It would be cool to have multiple languages.

As a person who understands and speaks more than 2 languages, why is multiple language tags not implemented? See, I am from Denmark, and I naturally understand Danish, but also English. And so does most of Denmark in general. I primarily stream in English since the potential audience is just bigger.
Now here's the problem: I want to have my stream show up for both Danish and English filtered searchresults, since a fairly small amount of people goes out of the way to manually remove or add language tags that aren't their native. I can only have one. So, if a Danish person is looking to watch a stream, mine won't show up for them, unless they either search for an English tag, or remove all language filters alltogether.
This is why we need dual or more language tags for streams.
We want to build communities both in our native country, as well as the rest of the world. But that is just not easy with the current system. Let's not force a language barrier, when there really isn't one anymore, it's 2022 and it's time to unite the world now more than ever. -

I think almost nobody is searching to country..like England, Australia, Austria or Andorra. They searching to language they speak and understand.
Language is not equals with Country!

I realize that Twitch was originally an American company where many people don’t or are opposed to speaking more than one language, but the internet is global. Many people speak more than one language in their daily lives and Twitch should allow their users to find people easily who speak the same languages they do. A country tag is not enough!

I think we should have the option to dual, triple or multi language stream and at the same time for whomever is searching for a stream this person should know that the streamer is talking and or interacting with his community in different languages.

My husband is from Argentina and Im from the US. We stream together and we both speak English and Spanish. I feel like we’re only limiting ourselves to one market if we can only have one language selected!

I hope you'll add the possibility to add more than one language to your stream.

Trying to bump this up: Can't really speak on behalf of everybody but there is quite a substantial amount of bi-lingual people in the EU specially with any mix of German, French, English. Please bring back language tags. You used to have them... and they were quite useful.
Have a nice day!

I really want this to be a thing. I'm Swedish, English is my second language. Although I don't stream now I might in the future and I would love to alternate every now and then and to have both tags for people to find me.

Hello. I'm from Brazil, and before May/2021, I was able to put an "English" tag in my stream. I loved to have some Mexican, US, and many others viewers from other countries. After that "new 350 tags" thing, the "English" (and other languages) tags simply disappeared.
Please Twitch, fix that. I want to be found by many people since I'm a bilingual, thanks.

We asked for a Language option not a Country tag pls! It could be not that hard to allow to add as many languages to our streams as we want! And the search engine should find my Hungarian channel for Hungarians, or on Global page too if I set my streams language to Hungarian + English. And not Hungarian + England tag. Now, you have to enter country filter to get the country you want to watch....or I mean language to watch.
And we are only allowed to add 5 tags. Come on! I will use 3 from 5 only for countries?
What if I say, I would like to have everything in my languages...like the about page, or channel point rewards...on all 4 languages what I speak. I mean the content itself. And not to try push text into that fields on 4 different languages.
Thank you!

Hey, I'd love to hear your input on this!
So since I am a EU national, we usually speak several languages and not only one - quite fluently so - and therefore, I think it would be a good thing if I could add several Languages for my stream (maybe as a tag?). It would increase discoverability by a multitude and paves way for a cross-boarder international community.
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,

As a french person that can also speak in English i would love to get more possibilities with tags, by that i mean getting more languages tags because obviously by default the stream language is set in french so only french people will reach the stream. Which i think is kinda sad in some way. And i think that it could be super cool if we can get that.

In the 'old' twitch UI, whenever a language was set as the stream language, anyone watching from the same country would see that stresm at the top of the page, but the stream would still show in the overall section below. Now people specifically has to remove any language tag to see the overall section, which really hurts discoverability for bi-/multilingual streamers.
I seriously want this to be a feature, please
