Multi language tag on stream dashboard (more than 2 or 3 if possible)
Many people in the world i believe mostly at least bilingual, or even rarely some people speak Trilingual and Multilingual, so in the dashboard let us for streamers to choose what language are we broadcasting. For example "English" and "Chinese or "Korean" and "English" or even rarely maybe? "English" + "Korean" + "German"
Though we have not yet added support for multiple language tags, we have added more than 350 new options that we think may help out with this particular ask.
For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/. Thank you for your feedback and ideas!
We will leave this topic open for now for further discussion around whether this meets the needs of the request.
I would love to stream in English and Italian
Would it be possible / hard to implement to choose multiple languages in the stream info?
I am from Germany and stream in german but as soon as a viewer chats in english, i switch to speaking english. I usually write GER/ENG in the title but i guess many english speaking viewers are scared off by the german language.
I would also like to request the ability to have my stream show up in multiple language filters. I play STGs/Shmups, and while it is great to have a Category nowadays, I still feel like my streams are not reaching their full audience. STGs are played by English, Japanese, Korean and French speaking players to name a few. We do not need to understand each others' languages in order to appreciate the gameplay, and many of us speak at least one of the other languages anyway.
I get that there are now language tags, but as these are separate to the main Stream Language selection, I am not sure they act as filters to be included under the tagged languages. Please can someone confirm?
I want to have the right to choose two languages at the start of the broadcast. Not 1, but more than one.
Can we just make language tags STICK? They used to stay and i could go from game to game without having to worry about it. Now, i have to type it in EVERY SINGLE TIME and it's getting highly annoying and honestly making me watch less streams overall.
Also, i should have 10 selections of "English", with varying capital letters when i type it in. Examples - "eNglish" "enGlish" "engLish".
now is 2022.
Before the individual tag update rolled out, you could at least search for predefined language tags. Now since streamer can write their own tags, it doesn't work at all.
How about just add the selected stream language from the streamer dashboard and add it as a mandatory tag? Streamers could still add secondary languages by tagging them.
Ability to select multiple language for translation in stream manager.
I desperately need this feature. The language tag restriction is ridiculous, I guess some (even not the most) creators can speak at least two languages. Doubtlessly, live-streaming in multi-languages can facilitate communication between creators and viewers (who may speak in languages different from what the tag indicates). I do live-streaming in Chinese but I can speak English. I am sure that some English-speaking viewers of my channel are reluctant to share their opinions when they see the language tag is Chinese.
Adding such a feature should not be complicated. It is a great disappointment to see Twitch doing nothing about it.
I feel like this is something that would greatly benefit both streamer and viewer. I wish there was a way to stream under more than one language at the same time. I hate having to choose between english and spanish when I speak both. I know I myself would LOVE to be able to view a streamer that speaks more than one language.
Yeah! Would be great to have an own part in tags like for music. You can have set category music, then below category you can find "Music Tags".
So please add an own, new part on the Edit Stream Info, like: "Language Tags". And WITHOUT any restrictions (like only 5 language) we should be able to add any language what we speak or wanna react in our stream. Please add so many languages as available! Not only the main 5.
This way tags could be something different.
Funny, that the first tag you can select if you click on Tags is Jewish. Not ordered alphabetically.
"Language: English", "Language: Norwegian" - I want tags like this, because tag "Russian" might look like I am Russian when I am not.
"Still no update on this?!"
I guess the streamers are not all that important afterall. Atleast we get to broadcast what's between our legs and who we feel attracted to... I guess that was _much_ more important...
I'd like a German + English language tag myself. No one should watch my stream because I'm a gay male. Just my personal opinion.
"Still no update to this?"
and you're surprised ?
It would be great to choose 2-3 language tags at a time - not everyone just speaks one language... Hopefully we can get this up and running soon? Would love to be able to choose more than 1. Please & Thank you!
I would totally love this feature too, I'm italian but I speak english too, considering that the italian community is very small it would be very very useful to be indexed by the platform even to an english speaking audience. I don't get why this feature hasn't been implemented yet, it should be very quick to do on the coding side. There is maybe some kind of workaround?
We could really use multiple language tags for streams, both for search improvements/stream visibility and for inclusivity. Less than half of the entire world speaks only one language. :) This is currently the 9th most upvoted idea on the site which shows its relevance and importance, please implement it soon.
As it is now you can onlychoose 1 language at the time and go back and forth.
would really appreciate more then one
As someone who heavily utilizes translation bots and speaks three languages, I'm really disappointed I need to advertise as English language when I'm able to speak German and Japanese. It limits the outreach, and it really cannot be that difficult for you to implement.
