  1. Not so much an idea, but I and dozens of my DJ friends only signed up with Twitch, because we're all out of work from the pandemic, and livestreaming DJ sets was our only outlet at this time. We don't even really make any profit, short of a few bucks from donations. This is mainly for therapy.

And most of the DJ's I know, don't even play mainstream/top 40 music in our sets. Is there any other legal options, besides doing private Zoom parties, or signing up for a premium Mixcloud account for us? I've been doing a weekly Sunday…

  2. With the vast diversity of streamers ranging from young to old, professional to casual, Twitch needs to assign an expert to review the various EULAs for the games streaming on Twitch. This would provide more efficient, consistent, and helpful EULA interpretation, and it would enable mechanisms for Twitch and game companies to resolve problems with EULAs and potential DMCA issues quickly and efficiently.

Twitch should have one point person (or small team) review legal documents such as EULAs and identify key points relevant to streamers. They should then communicate those points to streamers and build additional relevant safeguards into Twitch…

  3. I'm offering to forfeit a small donation to the respected record companies in exchange to play music. I currently don't have any strikes, and am willing to negotiate a fair charge to be able to play a certain genre of music.

  4. You could create a tool to report a copyright claim. This tool would send the id or url (I don't know how you handle that) in order for Twitch to check if the claim is legit and if it is, you can send the notification to the streamer using the id/url of the claimed VOD or clip. By doing that, the streamer will know exactly which VOD/clip has been reported and can act accordingly given the situation.
That is my idea and I think it could be very useful.

  5. Hi, I kinda said it all in the title but, you all should work with Bandcamp and independent artists to create a new way to discover music!

This would revolutionize the music industry!!

    Please consider.

  6. Implement a muting and/or cropping feature that allows streamers to remove offending content. This muting/removal should carry over to clips. Prior to granting strikes, streamers should automatically get a warning, their VOD can be put on hold or set to "private," highlighting the VOD in question and allowing them to personally remove or mute the offending section in their VODs before it can be made public again.

  7. I feel like this should have been a given from the start, but apparently not.

WHEN YOU SEND OUT THE INFRINGEMENT NOTIFICATIONS TWITCH, PROVIDE MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE INFRINGEMENT.

Don't just give us "information about the allegedly infringed work, who the claimant is, how the claimant can be contacted, and possible penalties under our repeat infringer policy", give us NOT ONLY names and links to affected clips and VODs, but also TIMESTAMPS FOR EACH INFRINGEMENT.

This information would provide users with a better ability to not only find the content that was allegedly infringed upon, but would allow users to…

  8. Classical music performed from sheet music should not be muted. Just because someone has recorded and published a performance should not give them a right to block someone else's performance of the same classical piece. The process for disputing the muting of performances needs more options and attention.

  11. I have a problem with the above mentioned article in Creator Camp.

It offers the suggestion to delete all clips if you aren't able to find a clip that might.... MIGHT be infringing on copyright.

Let's say that I am someone who has been streaming on Twitch for a number of years and that my community (to the best of their knowledge) has not been deliberately clipping moments from my stream that infringe copyright.

Suddenly, I get a warning that some piece of my content has infringed copyright and that the offending item has been deleted. I don't get any…

  12. We produce live concerts where none of our music is owned by the rights management companies who claim rights. How to these companies claim rights to Mozart, Beethoven etc? Just because they have recorded a piece from the classical world does not mean they are the owners. Classical music is open domain and if played by expert musicians may get flagged by some Artificial Intelligence which says their "Recording" has been matched. It's not enough or justifiable in a court of law. You (Twitch) need to do more validation and vetting before taking the word of some "Rights) ripping off…

  13. Clips that are from VODs and was created while a song that was then muted, should not get deleted, make it like a VOD.

Otherwise the entire clip is gone. It should either be muted completly or partially at where the song is.

Also, I'm not convinced that anything happens on uservoice. Is it outdated? Like, there was no response from devs and there were suggestions from 2017 and nobody knows if it was implemented or not, you don't see that on the suggestion at all.

  15. Twitch likes to just mute out the whole audio sections from a clip when there is copyrighted music. Which makes that section odd to watch since there is no audio at all. My solution to this would be for twitch to instead of just muting out the segment, they should just take the copyrighted song, and apply an inverted signal to it. So that way, the song would essentially be silenced/ canceled out by the two signals, however, everything else would be fine and you'd be able to hear streamer, any sort of in-game sounds or irl sounds. That way,…

  16. I switched from Spotify to twitch as my main source of music while I work, and I did that mostly because of the interaction with the musician.

Live shows are great but they offer less interaction than a live stream. Why don't merge them?

I see twitch as a huge potential for music and a way to promote it is doing a "livestream" of the concert while the public may interact

I think musicians would find twitch as a fun way to make music, for fans is an amazing way to interact with musicians and for twitch is a nice…
