  1. Allow Musicians to play their own Music that they've composed themselves and have uploaded on Music streaming services or have a copy of the music on their devices that they play the music with.
For example, I've composed 2 albums that are available on Spotify and other Music streaming services, and I'm still getting my audio muted because twitch doesn't allow any spotify tracks to be played during a stream.

So, I'm hoping twitch can allow Streamers to play their own music, by adding a portal where they can connect their Music copyrights (email address could be enough), and then…

  2. Music is universally loved by many. Its addition to a stream can set the tone for a community. Amazon/Twitch: please pay for licensing so streamers do not have to worry about DMCA strikes. Let people share and enjoy music!

At the very least, include licensing for Amazon Prime members and/or Twitch Turbo users.

  3. Hi I was thinking that maybe it would be a good idea that you could make it so people can edit there streams from the mobile app instead of us having to go on the website. Because when we go on the website it cuts off more than half of the stream when we try to make highlights and stuff. Also it would be a lot easier for us to keep an eye on the copyright strike claims also the mobile app can be accessed from without WiFi but the website cannot so that also makes it harder

  4. Shadow Bans or Temporary Bans should be distributed. who continuously violate copyrights. And there are several cases of copyright infringement. Also that these people get banned from appearing on Twitch. Because after 1-2 bans people don't stop and keep violating the songwriter's rights or the author's rights. It should be punished more severely and faster with people who can not leave it.
Based on the video, you can see whether the streamers have used copyright material or not. In addition, the DMCA does not have to be logged on Twitch to discover an offense. Best of all to catch yourself…

  5. Get a deal with music industry or stop taking streamers money from subs and ads.
If you charge streamers that money, you must fix the issue. If not, then dont charge nothing.

  6. Give streamers the ability to unlock additional channel emote slots for having an account in good standing for something like 90 days.

Incentives do wonders for changing habits and creating new routines.

  7. So this might have been covered before, but for a lot of game streamers, copyrighted music is a problem in videos. One of the songs in a previous stream got muted. I have no problem with that. My issue if I could fix it is that the block that got muted is much longer than the song. 6 minutes gets muted versus the song which is only about 2 minutes of time in the video. I wish there was a way to unmute specific segments that are not part of the copyright. If there was a way to tell which…

  8. Stop muting VODS in general. Amazon SELLS music. Make a deal like you already have to protect streamers. There is no reason 1 minute of audio should mute almost 10 minutes. That's ridiculous. Stop being petty. Get sued. You are a multi-billion dollar company.

  9. Provide a tool for streamers to manually mute selected parts of the VOD, and allowing the streamer, while in live, to press a button to flag in timeline the current stream time where could possibly leak a unwanted song.

  10. The blanket license has long been recognized as the most efficient and convenient way of clearing copyrights in the United States. It would be time consuming and expensive for you to locate, contact and negotiate with all copyright holders prior to the performance of each song you plan to play.

The U.S. Supreme Court summarized the virtues of the blanket license in CBS v. Broadcast Music, Inc., 441 U.S. 1 (1979) as follows:

"... the blanket license developed ... out of the practical situation in the marketplace: thousands of users, thousands of copyright owners and millions of compositions. Most users…

  11. The whole problem with public performance rights comes from the fact that you're a venue and aren't paying PROs. At the same time, I feel like you're really hurting musicians much more than game-streamers. Please pay PROs like you're required to do. This does not affect VODs or Clips, because that is sync licensing. However, for DJs and other performers, you are very much breaking the law by not having a license with one (or multiple) of the PROs. No wonder the PROs and labels are coming after you, if you won't pay your dues. In the same manner, it…

  12. This makes 0 sense. You have no problem banning people for inappropriate content or things you disagree with, yet when DMCA comes down on you, it's up to us as content creators to protect ourselves?

You don't get to regulate a platform, and then things get tough, decide you don't want the responsibility anymore. Either ban content AND protect creators yourselves from the DMCA strikes, or do neither. Doing both shows you're just a bunch of greedy pieces of crap who really don't care about your creators. I know your a company and your main thing is to make money…

  13. The editor of a channel should get the ability (or be given the ability at the approval of the streamer) to review and submit counter claims on muted audio and claimed clips/VODs. This would allow the editor to be able to provide additional editing support of VODs and clips.

  14. I would suggest to go over your existing appeals for muted music.

Two of my videos are falsely muted for 15 months now. I've sent multiple e-mails to Twitch on every possible email I could of find, and every response is that it's not their department to deal with appeals.

  16. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/512 Twitch needs to look at the actual letter of the law and unless the person doing the strike does everything as required in paragraph section C. Paragraph 3, Subsection A, no strike is valid or legal as ruled by US Ninth Circuit Court in Lenz v. Universal Music Corp resolved on September 14, 2015

  17. Re the recent email Twitch sent out re cover songs, I need the ability to make highlights from UNPUBLISHED VODS!

Otherwise, if i perform even a single cover song, the only way to highlight my originals is to temporarily publish my VOD. Or I can highlight the cover song, then UNPUBLISH it, then EXPORT to YouTube. But this is ridiculous!

DEAR TWITCH, PLEASE ADDRESS THIS URGENT ISSUE!!!

    Thanks,
    Hayden

  18. So, I did a stream earlier, and I was going back to clip things. And a section was muted as 'copyrighted music' when it was the same thing playing as always. So, I realized that a train had gone by around that time. And the muted section was about the length of time it took the train to pass. So...I'm not sure, but I think the recording thought that was copyrighted music. Just a heads up. Not a complaint, the brief muted part does not ruin anything in the clips I just thought it was worth mentioning. (Edit to add:…

  19. I think if Twitch is going to be taking copyright more seriously moving forward, then they need to include video games in that as well. As it stands, there are many streamers, both partnered and otherwise, profiting off someone else's work without their explicit permission or sponsorship. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but video games should require permission/sponsorship to broadcast just like any other copyrighted material.

  20. Add Video Description to Stream Information. In video description, add ability to add licensing information. If user does not have license do not instantly publish VOD, rather request on behalf of and apply asking user to agree to profit sharing of VOD. If user denies then the vod can not be published. Consider this a safe guard. Listing license in video description can also help with Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 Licensing.
