  1. Hello The idea is in general ,
You as a company could turn this around in a bigger picture ,
here is how you go about this Pitch the idea of using Twitch / Amazon as new way to drive sales for Record labels .
    How it would work ,
Twitch gets a new part of the UI/UX where the music played in the stream this would be basically be literally a piece of the UX UI that would link to the store where the user could buy 1 song the whole albums , CDs , Vinil, etc .
    why…

  2. 12-11-20 was the first communication from your platform regarding DMCA strikes. I am one of the minnow streamers you decided not to merge into your communication program. DMCA strikes for folks like me - not a concern for Twitch? Not going to expend your resources in that way?

  3. Using the DMCA sensor data identify the affected frames. Sample the creator voice frequency scope keep it in the resampled version and remove every other sound from the content. Replace the "Striked" content with the DMCA filtered resample. This leads to the possibility of re-usuing the content with the option of the creator ads a new sound layer to the content. In sum give a chance to keep the content, clean of DMCA preserved for the future to see.

  4. First off Twitch, you are very wrong if you think that I or many other affiliate streamers who receive zero exposure from your algorithms are worried about DMCA. Maybe the big streamers are more easily influenced by their contractual obligations, but not the rest of the community who make no profit or gain by streaming on your platform.

Secondly, let's start off with a little about the music industry and licensing itself. As a founder and operator of an online radio station, I have paid alone in licensing/royalties over 8 years close to $10,000. I am a firm believer that…

  5. Most game's have licensed music like RDR2 or other games that have music imbedded in at the start middle or otherwise in the game, being muted or getting a strike or muted because of in-game music is a bit wrong when it's outta the streamers hand's no matter how much we minimize thing's like that do happen!! Take a step back for a bit and make sure it's worth a copy right strike!! Those of us that stream the game with no music except for what we can't help during the game shouldn't have to worry about being banned or…

  6. With the vast diversity of streamers ranging from young to old, professional to casual, Twitch needs to assign an expert to review the various EULAs for the games streaming on Twitch. This would provide more efficient, consistent, and helpful EULA interpretation, and it would enable mechanisms for Twitch and game companies to resolve problems with EULAs and potential DMCA issues quickly and efficiently.

Twitch should have one point person (or small team) review legal documents such as EULAs and identify key points relevant to streamers. They should then communicate those points to streamers and build additional relevant safeguards into Twitch…

  7. Currently, it is hopelessly impractical for streamers to do what they do best, entertain with back ground music filling the silence between moments when they game or interact, while the danger of blanket copyright strikes resulting in forced stream and VOD censoring exists. If twitch wants this to work effectively, they have to fight for it. This could mean hiring legal experts, and/or lobbyists to work to implement something similar to the Fair Use Act under US law in the long term, but in the mean time I've prepared a suggestion or two that should help the situation if implemented.

  8. I'm offering to forfeit a small donation to the respected record companies in exchange to play music. I currently don't have any strikes, and am willing to negotiate a fair charge to be able to play a certain genre of music.

  9. You could create a tool to report a copyright claim. This tool would send the id or url (I don't know how you handle that) in order for Twitch to check if the claim is legit and if it is, you can send the notification to the streamer using the id/url of the claimed VOD or clip. By doing that, the streamer will know exactly which VOD/clip has been reported and can act accordingly given the situation.
That is my idea and I think it could be very useful.

  10. Hi, I kinda said it all in the title but, you all should work with Bandcamp and independent artists to create a new way to discover music!

This would revolutionize the music industry!!

    Please consider.

  11. Implement a muting and/or cropping feature that allows streamers to remove offending content. This muting/removal should carry over to clips. Prior to granting strikes, streamers should automatically get a warning, their VOD can be put on hold or set to "private," highlighting the VOD in question and allowing them to personally remove or mute the offending section in their VODs before it can be made public again.

  12. Allow streamers to set a default VOD description which would be automatically added to any new VODs created. It might include things such as credits for creative commons content they use, etc. so they can avoid DMCA strikes twitch seems intent on holding us responsible for and include stuff like their social links and other info.

  13. I would love for there to be a place full of approved music. Like with YouTube, have a page, tab, or something with music that wont get copyright stuck. Especially since even some game music can get strikes. I don't want to get in trouble and I only recently learned that you can't play everyday music. It would be awesome if you would compile a list of music for people to be able to play without getting in trouble. Please and Thank You

  15. I have a problem with the above mentioned article in Creator Camp.

It offers the suggestion to delete all clips if you aren't able to find a clip that might.... MIGHT be infringing on copyright.

Let's say that I am someone who has been streaming on Twitch for a number of years and that my community (to the best of their knowledge) has not been deliberately clipping moments from my stream that infringe copyright.

Suddenly, I get a warning that some piece of my content has infringed copyright and that the offending item has been deleted. I don't get any…

  16. An option that detects copyrighted content and removes streams or clips, or cuts off the parts where this content is detected to avoid removing the glorious work you've done.

  17. I believe that the Twitch Audio Algorithm meant to catch and mute copyrighted material should be improved upon.

Many streamers have had parts of a VOD muted due to a copyrighted song, even though that song is a part of the game, and is in-game audio. The streamer likely paid for the game, so they aren't streaming the game with that song in it for free.

I believe the Algorithm should improve upon looking for audio that is both inside and outside of the game, OR, whenever the Algorithm checks for copyrighted material, a real person needs to give the…

  18. Similar to the Watch Party. This way Streamers could share music with some of the viewers (prime members) without this whole DMCA problem because only viewers who have access to the songs anyway can listen to them.

The only issue would be how you would handle that the streamer hears the music too, without making it audible for nonprime members. But this way people would still have to pay somewhere to listen to the music to give the artists credit and at the same time it would improve the quality of streams. In my opinion, this would even help musicians…

  19. Seeming some songs on Spotify are blocked by Twitch due to copyright issues perhaps we could get an app or something where we can put a URL for a Spotify playlist and it checks wither a song would be blocked or not, this way we could tailor playlists to be free of copyright infringement but still suit the vibe and style of our streams. Sadly there is nothing we can check songs against at present so this would be a great way to work it.

  20. When watching a vod, which I do plenty. It can be annoying to try and scroll through the small time slider to reach the end of a break where music has caused copyright and the vod is muted. A prompt saying would you like to skip to when the vod is no longer muted would be very helpful.
